Will a handheld tuner fix exhaust backfire?

Recently picked up my 2013, it has a fairly loud backfire sometimes during shifting from 1-2 and 2-3. I like the decel popping, but would like to not have the loud backfires when shifting if they can be tuned out...I’m thinking it’s because of the CAI based on searching the topic,.will one of the handheld tuners like a SCT x4 fix this? Thanks, I couldn’t find this specific question when searching, if it’s already addressed I apologize!

Oh also it may have had cutouts installed at one point that were removed, I have switches for it but definitely no cutouts present now.

You will need to disable or re-calibrate CFCO (Clutch Fuel Cut Off). Disabling will eliminate the pops while shifting, but you can also soften them by raising the timing advance when CFCO is active. You can also eliminate or soften the deceleration DFCO popping in a similar manner if so desired.

I don't know if SCT or one of the other handhelds allow you to do this, but in my limited experience, they don't.

HPTuners MPVI2 will fix you up, and give you much better logging capabilities, even if that's all you ever use it for, for the same price as the SCT x4 (once you factor in the 2 credits needed to license your ECM with HPT).

Will turning off the CFCO also disable the No Lift Shift?

I'm not sure. I doubt it, though.
