I wouldn't be ashamed. The car looks great btw. The v6's today are like the v8's of yesterday, they usually make more power than the v8s did back then and get a ton better gas mileage.
I would be ashamed a bit owning a 4 cyl 2016 model (even though they are powerful), it just ain't right. You can still mod the v6's out nicely. There are people on this forum who have done so with nice results. Smile, and be proud of the car you bought and keep your father in mind. |

Different strokes for different folks. My family has always gotten the V8 of any car model if it's available. Where you don't understand why anyone would want a V8 as a DD, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want a V8 if it's an option. The sound of the exhaust is the only reason I need.

These are some amazing V6 engines. I bought a V6 since I drive 600-1000 miles a week. Even know fuel consumption is close between the two cars and is honestly irrelevant to me, I felt it was a wiser choice. Plus I saved $ on the car and save $ on insurance since my driving record is already very interesting xD

Some V6 people have a complex. I was borderline as well at times when I had my 6. I understand, but honestly, it's not the big deal that you make it out to be in your head. People admire our cars, especially kids from the 60's and 70's because these cars bring back emotions and memories. I belong to the Detroit 5th gen Camaro club. we're a tight group that gathers regularly. We don't walk around differentiating the v6 people from v8s. We all love our Camaros. And before you ask "if your six was so great, why an 8 now?" it's a 1LE thing, I wanted a 1LE since it came out and found a deal I couldn't pass on. I still miss my 45th anniv. RS.

Nothing wrong with a V6 Camaro
It's not some weezing 100 some HP V6, it's a pretty high performance V6. My moms '14 V6 drives a lot like my SS when we are at highway speeds. |

Yep! I'm so ashamed of mine that I only drive it on days of the week ending in ...day.
And even then, only during the hours of daylight or darkness.

And having more Horsepower than those classic cars + $5 will get you a value meal at McDonalds, but you'll probably be in line behind those V8 cars. I would never say anyone made a mistake just because I made a mistake when I bought a V6 Camaro. Everyone has specific reasons why they buy whatever they buy. I thought a 300+ HP V6 sounded good on paper too until I owned and drove one for 9000 miles, immediately realized my "garaged pleasure vehicle" was all looks and no action. Car is too heavy and that V6 has zero low end grunt, flooring it just makes more noise, totally uneventful.
