102mm TB vs 90mm TB
I saw this post on another forum and found it quite interesting. I have no more information than what is in the thread.
I recently built a 451 CID engine - 12:1 compression - ALL PRO LSW12-1 heads by WCCH - 252/272 solid roller cam - Tony Mamo ported F.A.S.T. 102 intake and a Nick Williams 102 mm throttle body. During engine dyno testing, we ran a comparison of the 102mm throttle body versus a Mamo-ported 90mm throttle body. The results were that the 102 made 8 hp more than the 90 above 6,500 rpms and lost 25 lb-ft of torque in the mid-range. I sold the 102 and am running the 90mm throttle body. |

Probabaly due to air velocity vs. volume at the given rpm? Just shooting from the hip here...
