QTP Cutouts

I still have compulsion installing QTP Cutouts.
Basically, it's useless. ... the thing that makes noise.

I just want more reasons to install to want it than to spend $ 650.

I read a lot of threads here on the Camaro5. Some lost power, some get power....

Where is the best place to place them to mean better performance than just sound please?

George

I installed Noweeds this year and while they're pricey, they're awesome. To notch quality, great support when you do something dumb during install (gray wire bad), and they do more than just open a hole in the exhaust, they divert all of the exhaust out of the cutout.

I have the QTP's and really like them. Make a lot of noise when you open them up !! Especially when you are just idling or at a car show with the big ass cam I have!! Really gets a lot of stares and comments and compliments at the shows when you crank her up. lol. I actually gained a bit of TQ down low on mine, but have never ran it WOT for a full pull to see if any difference or not, just too loud for me up there. Plus I saw a vid of a guy and his girl in a ZL1 running them open at WOT for a good pull and it set off his side curtain air bags, on the vid !! No thanks..

That is Nick and Lauren and the Freedom Rocket is gutted, caged, and Nick was going WAY above 55 with his Noweeds diverters. If you still have your interior, don't have a cage, and aren't doing speed that may or may not involve jail time if busted, you'll be fine.

I never said you couldn't, don't complain if your airbags pop. Besides they shouldn't blow if you're not gutted interior with a cage. Also, I haven't blown my airbags yet with some decent pulls with my Noweeds wide open.

lol, yea I saw that the Camaro was all gutted and caged when he was doing that pull/video, and yea I kinda figured he was movin pretty good too !! My interior is still all intact and don't plan on anymore mods to it, especially a cage.. Still an interesting vid though..

I have NoWeeds and mine have never activated airbags. I’ve gone well over 150 with them open.

Besides, if that was actually caused by the exhaust...how come you can’t find another case anywhere of it happening to any other vehicle on the planet?

I also think that open cutouts hardly activate airbags.

In the Camaro, the airbags fly out essentially alone

Thank you for the explanation and photo documentation.
How big a role does this placement on the pipeline play?
If the photos are not illustrative, the original QTP places it directly in the bend of the pipe.

I like your installation more because of the smoother flue gas discharge, where there is no possible turbulence when the gases hit a dead end street and tend to come back.

Yes ... I may solving it too unnecessarily, but I always put up with the most precise work possible.

And I definitely don't want to get CEL

The setup you are referencing is the "aggressor" setup, they are a totally different set than what I have. I have the QTEC66 system on my Camaro.
