Barton Short Throw Transmission Boot - Help
I installed my Barton Short Throw yesterday. It is a great mod and I would recommend it to anyone. I do have some chatter under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd, but it's quiet under all other conditions. However, after the install everything went great until about 80 miles of driving. I exited off I-94 and the shifter started to vibrated terribly. I mean the whole stick was shaking left to right. After getting it up on some jack stands I noticed the rubber boot, which I installed correctly(at least I'm pretty sure I did - all tabs inserted, started from front and worked back), was grabbed by the drive shaft coupling and torn. The boot was slapping the shifter and causing the vibration. So my questions are: has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know the part number of the transmission dust boot? Also, how much space should there be between the top of the coupling and the dust boot? Any hlep will be appreciated.
