yea, it's about the only way to steal a car anymore unless you really know what your doing. every car made will have some sort of immobilizer system that shuts down the injectors or something if the key fob isn't within a certain range of the car. even older cars without fobs usually have a chip imbedded in the key that does the same thing.

unfortunately car thieves adapted to it by using tow trucks. I guess it's like the saying goes, a lock just keeps an honest person honest.

So what security system did you buy if you dont mind me asking? Ive been looking for a good one.

Onstar can only track if here is power to the system. If they put it on a tow truck, after pulling the lead off the battery, gl. =(

Viper 5901 is pretty solid. That alarm just moved up on my priority list, especially since I spend a lot of time in the city.
