For those with IOM paint, here is what a fellow Forum person did on the deck lid covers. I stopped on the way home today and bought all the supplies and will be doing this to both the engine cover and the deck lid covers. I will post pictures when completed. First my Camaaro needs to be built TPW 3/29. Then the mods begin.
Hope all works out for everyone. And many thanks to those who post some really great DIY stuff. Everyone, I originally didn't post the paint and prep info because I really didn't think that this mod would create such an interest, but now that it has I'm going to share the mod and I've also added another pic which has more sunlight showing the metal specks in the paint which IMO helps the mod look more like IOM because of the pearls that are in it. The color I used is Duplicolor metal specks Burnt Copper. I was able to pick this up at my local autozone (around $7.00). To prep I took the covers off, washed them with mild soap and cleaned them up real good to make sure there was no oils, dirt etc.... dried them off with a lint free towel/chamoas, I then sprayed a few coats of duplicolor adhesion promoter (both sides), let set for a few minutes then applied several coats of the burnt copper paint letting the coats dry about 5-10 minutes before adding another coat, after letting the paint dry about 30 minutes I then shot a couple coats of acrylic clear, let dry overnight then re-installed the next day. For the plastic snap in covers (6 total) I used Duplicolor Metal specks Sparkle Silver with the same process. This paint almost looks chrome. Well, I Hope this helps let me know if and of you have any other questions. Thanks. One last thing, it is very important to spray the adhesive promoter in order for the paint to adhere correctly to plastic. Enjoy! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=69942&page=3 |

I like this even better. Just got done ordering my exact paint. I will return the other paint tomorrow. As I complete my projects I will post the results, since I know pictures are important. Thanks for the tip. |

Thosee are the correct numbers. I ordered a rear spoiler for my Camaro from ebay and the code was WA502Q. The spoiler arrived a couple days ago and it looks perfect. |
