Glad they could ruin the rims.
I want the exhaust tips and rear diffuser though.

I could be wrong, but I've heard (from several sources) that the offset is different on the front and rear wheels. If that's true, front wheels would look odd on the back of a Camaro. |

I'm liking the new 20" wheels! I didn't mind the prvious ones, but these look a little more refined. They give the car a little more of an old school muscle car look to me.

That's probably true. I just don't get why they stretched a tire for the bigger wheel. That really doesn't make sense to me.

It comes down to cost vs performance. They already have the wheels from the ZL1. So there is no reason to change the wheels. The 285 tires are cheaper than the 305 tires. The 305 tires would probably slow down the 1LE on a race track. So the price and performance are the best that they can be. You have to keep in mind, the 1LE will actually improve the profit margin on the ZL1. The more parts that Chevy "buys in bulk", the cheaper each individual part costs. They can only make a certain number of ZL1s each year. So all of the extra parts get put on a different Camaro. That way, they get a better price on the parts for the ZL1. Chevy doesn't think about building one Camaro at a time, they think about building 100,000 Camaros at a time. |

Well, if they do, are the wheels the same offset front and rear? I haven't looked at the V6 cars, but none of the V8 cars come with the same size wheels front and rear. I think there is a reason for that. It would definitely be cheaper for Chevy to run the same size wheels and tires front and rear. |

Why can't they paint some flashy colors like the old 85 IROC cars that raced...?

It does indeed list the front wheels as 20x10 and the rears 20x11 (same size tires at all 4 corners). Things are still subject to change, but it looks like it will be this way so far. Last edited by 1LEE; 07-26-2012 at 06:14 AM. |

Thanks!
@ RJTV6A:
Thanks a lot for posting the catalog! Any objections to me using your hard work and combining the images into a PDF document so that the whole catalog can be downloaded and viewed as a single document? Last edited by JSLSlim; 07-25-2012 at 05:27 PM. Reason: Direct reply to OP |

How does the wheel bearing affect offset? Wouldn't offset be based on clearances not bearings?

Ah yep. If the wheels were the same size the offsets would be the same. But it looks like the backs are 11" so the distance from the hub mounting surface would be different.
