It was in first. The first run had me wondering if I might have overlooked that. I know the sixties could have been better but 9.90's? Come on. The track was crap but the 2.56 was just to see if it was gonna try to hook. It did not. The others were 2.2's and 2.3's. It was 89 degrees but still should be in the 8's. If anyone remembers who has had the same problem, please send them my way. Should be alot closer to 80mph than it is to 70. Just doesn't feel right. Not satisfied.

Are you stalling it up against the brake before launching, or just side stepping the brake & hitting the gas? Not trying to be an A$$, just wondering why the short times are so far off?

Man don't beat yourself to death over this, I ran my A6 last night also and I'm pretty dissappointed also. I did a little better than you but not much...
My best 1/8th was 9.05 @ 78.1 with a 2.126 60' That was me hot lapping it on my second run, flash stalling it off idle with TC and stabilitrack off (no competition mod with still leaves ST on). I felt same as you, like I was towing a boat or something...shifting was inconsistent. It would shift at like 5400 in first, then it might shift near 6K in second, then 3rd might be at 5800...it was all over the place. I really feel like the ECM was pulling LOADS of timing. Driving it on the street it definitely felt faster. I'm embarraced really, how slow the thing was, people were lined up watching my first few runs, and I run a 14.1, and 13.9....Sucks. I would get a dyno though, to see if your making advertised power, if not take it to the dealer. There have been a few guys with faulty ECM's. But you can't expect 8.40's in weather like you ran in ....those are unreal expectations. Put a stall, headers and Tune on it and you will run 8's though, guarateed!

Did it bog on take-off? What rpm did you leave at?

Yeah, somethings not right.
But I will have to jump in and say that your 60' times are really bad (even on a unprepped track). You need to leave the line without just mashing the gas to the floor. A gentle rolling into the throttle will get you off the line with decent 60' times. Even on an unprepped track you should be able to pull 2.1 sec 60' times with a gentle launch. But your trap speeds indicate something is wrong with your car. Even in 90 degree heat your car should be trapping 80+ mph. If it was my car I would get it on a dyno and see what's going on. Your Camaro should be making around 320 rwhp. And if you get your car dynoed they can check out the tuning, etc. |

Yes the sixty foots are off. It's not bogging and not going up in smoke. The issue really is the mph. I could handle the bad et's and chock it up to "I can't drive" if the mph was there.....but it isn't. It almost has to be a ecm or wot issue. I don't know. It would take me forever to get it to a dyno that actually has someone that knows something about tuning. Anyone got someone to recomend in south GA or North Fla? It's got to be something simple like a tune. Anybody else had the same issue or know someone who has?

#230 is a dog also. I am really not happy at all with the performance. Got beat by 3 car lenghts by a Mustang GT at the stop light on the highway. I was in Sport mode and the car is a total dog.
Had it at my dealer yesterday and they took all kinds of readings and calibration setting and sent them to GM. I have been complaining since this is not what I expected for my 36,000.00. I hope they figure out the need new flash for the ECM and Transmission and get this issue fixed. |

I have one thing to say... get a manual! I was at a dealership, not the one I ordered from, and we were discussing options and I brought up the auto. Keep in mind I pulled up in my C6 and he was a C6 owner as well... Anyhow, he said if i was used to driveing that I should for sure go with the LS3 M6 as the L99 and the A6 was a dog. Sorry.

This problem seems to be occurring with the L99s not the LS3s.
Take it to the dealer first. Second, you never waste money on a good tune. You may want to PM GTAHVIT for a shop near you, but if not, MTI is in Marietta, GA and they specialize in LS motor stuff. Now this is PURE SPECULATION and IMO, so take it as such - but I am wondering if there might be a problem with the AFM control. Just like a vacuum leak or a carb/efi where the throttle bores are not opening 100% - there is a pretty severe loss of power and the engine is not performing up to its potential. The physical AFM or ECM settings may be off somehow. Obviously, there will be performance differences among cars, but these are sophisticated computer controlled drivetrains which means their variances should be minimal. Best of Luck. |

Torque Managment?
Had bigtime issues with this when the SilveradoSS first came out. Converter, Shift Kit, Servo and Tune solved all the problems with bog and erratic shift points. The shift kit in an AWD Truck was Fun!
