Warranty Effective Date

I read in a thread here (the new vehicle delivery checklist) that you should check the warranty effective date. I just bought a 2SS a few days ago and pick it up Saturday. I punched the VIN into the Chevy tool and it looks as if the warranty was activated about six months ago. I'm fairly confident the vehicle has never been titled as it only has three miles on it - but how do I check to ensure it's not been titled, and how do I go about having the dealer reset the warranty to my purchase date?

Should be based on date/miles

o if you purchased with 3 miles then you would have 36,003 miles on the 36K mile warranty

Yeah that was my addition to the checklist ......If it was punched six months ago, it is very possible the dealer punched it as a demo. You should call chevy customer relations and also go back and talk to the general sales manager (not your salesman) at the dealership with your buyers order in hand. It can be changed.

If the dealer reported it sold, they can RTS (Return to Stock) and report it when you take delivery. I just sold a Corvette that had been reported almost 2 years ago. We corrected it.

I just checked. I would never have thought to if it weren't for this forum. Mine displays the exact date I took delivery. Also, the millage wasn't 36,000. It was 36,000 + 32 (miles on the car at the time I purchased). I was pleasantly surprised.
