great question!
if it's a 4 banger i would pass on it.that is unless you want a 4 cylinder.
GM made 3rd gen 4 cylinders they are actually the rarest, sometimes rare is because nobody wanted it.

If it's not a V8 ,it's worth nothing to me.

Definitely not a 4 cylinder and definitely not interested in anything other than a v8.

I believe I get every eligible discount so that helps the price a bit

Get the 2019. But seriously if you are not tracking the car get a regular SS. A bit more creature comforts and tech, the regular seats are more comfortable then the 1le recaros for trips, and the rear spoiler is nicer. The ride is a bit better as well

If you are questioning getting a 5th Gen versus a 6th Gen and are willing to spend $36kish why would a Z28 not be in consideration?

6th gen is better in every way. I've owned both.

Funny how opinions have changed on the 6th gen here. I said the same things about 6th vs 5th 3 years ago and the feedback was rude. Yes the 6th gen is a better car in every way.

If cost isn't a factor yes. That being said you can buy a lower mileage gen5 for low to mid 20s and have 10k to pump into aftermarket. That is one thing I think people fail to talk about is price comparison.

This thread was kind of a joke from the beginning because $36,000 is ZL1 or Z28 territory. Vastly different conversations at that point. Yes while the 6th 1le is comparable to a z28 on the track they are just to different cars built for two different types of men.
