WOT switch

I'm installing a Nitrous Outlet plate kit. Trying to figure out the WOT switch. SO the mechanical switch they supply goes on the gas pedal ? Anyone have instructions on that ? There is an extra wire on the supplied throttle body harness. I would need a controller to use that from what i'm reading ?

Strongly recommend getting one of these. Comes with instructions... wires to your tb and can set window to turn on and off so you don't blow your sh*t up.

Get a controller, window switch, with a tps sensor input. You will need to pull timing, install different spark plugs and more. Not sure which kit you have, but a mechanical switch is usually triggered by the linkage on a carburetor or the throttle cable/linkage. Don't skimp on doing it right. Call N.O. They are great at helping out and supplying info.

Does this still work well when mixing it with Nitrous Outlet products?

Set it and forget it.... on at 2800 rpm, off at just under your redline

Careful about how much you spray at 2800 rpm. For a single stage setup, best to use a progressive controller with correct initial percentage and ramp time, imo.

My set up was with only 75hp jets. It actually made 95 hp on the dyno. I did not have to pull any timing... not necessary to have a progressive on that small shot. My set up was conservative... just for the street. If you want more... for the track, then you will need to pull timing and most likely need a progressive controller.

Seems to be a $15 difference. For that amount, I'd get the one which has the better features and programming functionality. Whichever one that would be. ??

Highly recommend using a controller and not just a push button or wot switch. A basic controller will only allow the nitrous system to operate only at wot and spray between certain rpm's. But to each there own.

Would a 100 shot require pulled timing or a controller?

Yes, imo. The reason: N2O jets spray a fixed amount of nitrous at all rpms. Exception, progressive or multi stage systems. A 100 shot sprays the same amount at 1000rpms as well at 6000 rpms. So at 1000 rpms, the cylinders are trying to ingest a lot more N2O per stroke, which will create a lot more power at that rpm. If it can't ingest all of it, it may backfire through the intake or damage the engine because of the high concentration of N2O going into the cylinders, potentially bending a rod, beat rod bearings or damaging a piston. For a 100 shot, I would change to a 1 step colder, nonprojective plug and pull 4 degrees. Install a new plug in #7 just before a wot spraying run. Do the correct steps to read the plug, such as minimal to no idle before or after the run, etc. Pull the plug and read it. The "line" on the ground strap will tell you if too little or too much timing. Nitrous Outlet rates their hp at the wheels. N2O speeds up the burning process, thus the need to pull timing. Or your flame front will hit your piston as it travels upwards, then bad things happen. How much timing depends on octane and how big of a shot. Pull 2 degrees for every 50 as a guideline. Then read the plug and adjust. This will get you very close to where you need to be. More fuel should be added while spraying. Your wideband lambda should be around .78. Plug reading and track time with minor adjustments will fine tune. Maintain your bottle pressure around 950lb for consistent results. Don't skimp on building your system. This was just some quick highlights.
