ENGINE CODE P0008

Hello, About a 2 weeks ago my engine light came on. After filling up with gas a couple days later it shut off only to come back on the next day.

I stopped by Auto Zone and they read the code as P0008 and stated it was a timing belt issues. After reading about this online it appears this could be a pretty expensive repair.

Does anyone know if this would be covered under the powertrain 100k warranty? I have 90k on the car (it's still fun to drive).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You have timing chains not belts ,easy to replace and not too expensive . You can do it yourself in about 3 hours or less .

I'd think it would be covered under the power train warranty. Take it to the dealer and find out.

There is a tsb for this on the 3.6, timing chain stretches and sets cam crank correlation codes. it should be coverd under powertrain warranty.
