1LE clutch chatter

I have noticed when entering a driveway that I get pretty good chatter from the limited slip rear diff. Only happens when one wheel is significantly unloaded. Anyone else have this?

Same here mostly seems to happen in first and second gears.

i have heard all of these things with mine. im glad its not me with my rookie driving skills. The other day though i got a really bad one which was caused by the stupid 1-4 shift. i was in the mall parking lot in first gear going like 15 mph looking for a parking spot and it 1-4 me and i swear the entire drive train shuttered so hard i thought it was going to fall out right there in the lot. I dont think this car likes low speed at all with its setup as its seems we are all having issues in 1st 2nd and reverse

Skip shift eliminator ordered.

On a hill when clutching up it the sound is as if my rear end is going to fall out. But then I remember reading in the manual that when the computerized traction control engages it make noises which is normal. So now I try to be more smooth when I approach incline changes at an angle to avoid this.

ya i have owned many manual cars and i was like.. have i lost that much of my touch? wow that smells bad... and that was just a slight inclined into my driveway into the garage..

seems to be better now. 600+ miles.

You can try turning the traction control off, and see if you notice a difference.

Agree. There is an inordinate amount of noise in this tranny / clutch "thing". My 84 camaro made noise at the throw out baring. Once changed the noise went away.

Brandon, it seems that several of us are complaining about this same issue. This might sound like an odd question but is it as-designed? Is this how the Tremec 6060 and tranny sound together? It's definitely like a loud clunky piece of machinery. I hear mine less and I clutch more smoothly now but it does happen often at low speeds or when parking or engaging the clutch abruptly.

Very few of them here....

Not sure that what I think is being discussed here has anything to do with the clutch or transmission....

The bucking and lurching, clunking and lopping only ever happens at very low speeds and low rpms. It is almost like it is bogged down...

I think it is normal... the idles are a bit low... imo

EDIT: almost forgot, i almost never use 1st gear in this car... 2nd gear take offs and stop and go.

I'm finally now filling out my JD Power Survey. Comments I'm noting:

1. Clutch Chatter (on delivery; don't think dealer can fix)
2. Splitter fit gaps (on delivery; dealer tried to fix; traded one problem for another)
3. Driver's door squeaking (developed months after delivery; haven't taken to dealer)
4. MyLink bluetooth/USB pairing/response issues (on delivery; hoping MyLink software update fixes)

My car is a 2012 SS LS3 and the clutch issue has been present from 35 miles from Lot to entrance in driveway. Backing into driveway the car felt like I had a 150,000 mile old clutch , no grip at all and the burnt clutch smell. My fix is to get an aftermarket clutch. Even at the strip I couldn't burn out my rear and has never done this due to low grip from clutch going into first gear. Don't waste your time with dealership fix, go aftermarket. The stock clutch is crap.
