Need part name and number

Does anyone know what the name of the circled part is and the part number?
Not the crash bar but the plastic piece attached to it.

You are so right. Hope nothing happens to our rag top because that’s discontinued also.

Ford does discontinue parts also. However, the Mustang is more popular, and there are more modding companies out there. I still see new OEM parts for the GT350 back in 2016, including rear axles. None for 2015 z28 or zl1. Its the little things also. The aftermarket for the Stand is way more robust then the Camaro, especially when you go up in price. When I lowered my Stang, I bought short bump stops that were a higher durometer rubber over stock, however for the Camaro, I have to cut them. Its not a big deal, but its something so simple that no company is trying to make a little piece of money for them. Also, finding replacement parts to equal the performance of the beloved Z28 is outlandish. Cannot replace the DSSV struts with new ones, not rebuildable, and no struts in the aftermarket to support those stiff springs. Forced to go to a coilover system, which has benefits. And lets not forget, GM always stop making the Camaro. Yeah, its gone again after this year. Oh, whose left Electric Challengers and Chargers, and the Mustang.

So tell us how you really feel.

I couldn't tell you a thing about Mustangs or their support. I don't really care, TBH. To me, they were never a car that said "Drive me!" anyway. So I don't. And can't see that happening anytime soon. If it means that much to you, how come you haven't gone down to the Ford dealership and bought you a new one yet instead of giving it lip service here?

I've got older GM cars from the 80s they no longer make, so I'm used to having no aftermarket support for years on end. Make or save a used one for whatever part you need. Sad part is that even back then, they produced a lot of spare parts and NOS ones are still floating around here and there that you can get through 3rd parties. Not so much with the newer Camaros. And that's the real crux of the issue.

GM sucks, and "woke gm" sucks even harder.

All manufacturers eventually discontinue all parts. If you want to race old iron, you either need to invest in a stock of used parts or buy replacements from the aftermarket. DSSVs were over a grand each when they were available, so you can probably find a pretty good coilover solution in that price range, albeit if you only need to replace one having to spend 4-5k to replace them all is annoying. I never worked on a Mustang, but I have worked on Fords and never enjoyed the experience. For me the GenV having the LS platform is a huge plus and I was able to use parts from Z28s, ZL1s and 1LEs to improve my cars for not a lot of money before parts got scarce. If you don't want to deal with parts scarcity, you have to race fairly new iron. If that means a Mustang for you, go for it. I would rather race an S10 pickup.

I would rather race granny’s station wagon than a mustang. Go buy one already…

Contact Lee C Parts. They usually have lots of salvaged ZL1s in their inventory with lots of available parts. I've bought several things from them.
