I used to watch him. He is funny and honest. Felt bad for him when he blew the engine in his 6th gen 1LE on a money shift. Luckily they replaced it under warranty, but it was a nightmare experience for him. I like the he owned up to it and admitted his inexperience. He is big on tracking his cars, which is why he traded the 5th gen V6 for the 6th gen 1LE.

No, the computer will generally keep you safe. I use TapShift 100% of the time, unless the GF is in the car.

Since TapShift is a 'sequential' type of shift, you literally cannot skip a gear and drop it too low as you would have to go through the higher/lower gear first.

It will not allow you to go into a higher gear if the speed is too low and I believe the opposite is true if you are downshifting. I love using it for engine braking, but just to be safe I try to keep it from revving too high on downshifts and stressing the valvetrain too much. I picture my pushrods flexing like crazy on the big downshifts, but man they sound awesome. When I had my L99 I worried about collapsing an AFM lifter from those downshifts, but I never had an issue. Now I have an LS3 and all new LS7 lifters, so I feel a bit more liberated lol.

Just use common sense and you should be good. The computer is pretty good at keeping you in safe territory. The V8 cars are given more freedom with TapShift (No autoshifts in tapshift, regardless of RPM) and basically have nearly full manual control of the transmission, within reason. If it is deemed dangerous, the computer will block the shift. Just keep in mind weak or compromised parts can fail at any rpm.

I believe the V6 cars are a little more restricted with TapShift (I think it will autoshift at high rpms, but I could be wrong), so I would just take the car somewhere safe and have at it. Play around a bit and get comfortable with it. Just don't beat it to death.

If you mean the 'Fun Button', or disabling traction control AND stabilitrak, then yes. That video shows a V6 5th gen, which he no longer owns.

I know it man. I have owned my car since 2016 and have not smoked them in place even once yet. It's not even the tires, I just think my car would hate me lol.
Now, I have gone around a corner or taken off from a stop and spun plenty, but not power braking. Now that I have these new Firehawk Indy 500s it is even less likely.

I probably just surrendered my man card.

After owning the car for five years I watched this video. I then used the muthafrickerhaveyoulostyourdamind mode once and that was enuff.

Big surprise.

Going up a slight hill at 25mph and flooring it the car down shifted into first and swapped ends. The person next to me was probably screaming the same expletives I was using. I distinctly remember thinking V6 cars aren't supposed to do this as I saw the Starbucks violently pass by my drivers window.

Billybadazz modes enuff for me.
