3 quests about 5 gen
Will any stainless long tube headers fit up to stock cats(even with welding and fab)? Does 2010 camaro have air pump and will LS1 rockers fit on LS3.
Thanks |

After reading through this thread, I believe the long tubes are without cats and connect where the catback starts. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ley+long+tubes So I would guess that the only way to keep the stock cats would be to go with shortie headers. There is no air pump and as for the rockers i don't think so as the intake runners in the head are bigger.

If you get the 2SS or RS, instead of a spare tire you get an air pump.

rockers won't fit. LS3 intake rockers are offset. I guess technically you can use LS1 rockers on the exhaust side...

Thanks for the replies. Just saw pics of the factory exhaust system , so I see long tubes can't be used without relocating cats. Just ordered my 2010 SS/RS so just want to start buying my bolt ons now so I can install as soon as it comes in. Thanks again.

No LT headers can be used with the stock cats. They are using a double cat pipe on each side that are angled and all welded. The cats are flanged at the inlet and tubed at the outlet. All LT headers are tubed. You would have to do alot of cutting and rewelding to get the stock cats back in there. They would be much farther down the exhaust stream and likely not read the same and throw a code. Kinda a mess I would think to deal with.
