I have heard that flashing the HID lights or turning them on and off frequently shortens their life considerably. If you have checked the price of replacements for the HID's lately, that is not and inconsiderable thing. Has anybody else on this forum got any information on this?

You are not "FLASHING" the HID's. Have some one do it while you stand at the light and you will hear the cutoff shield moving, the bulb is constant.

This used to happen often when HID headlights first came out in general. Depends if people have seen them before as they are whiter/stronger.

Happens to me all the time. I've opined that if you live in an area where mostly older cars are more prevalent, or more rural areas you'll encounter it more.

They are some bright lights. I love them.

I've never been flashed by people thinking I had my high beams on.

I have flashed a buddy once to let him know I was being me and he told me when we finally got to where we were going that he couldn't believe how bright the high beams were. Haha

I have had it happen, but mostly while going over very rough road and what they think is "flashing" is my front end bouncing up while they are at a lower spot on the road.
