Like one should expect, the ZL1 did better at Leguna Seca. Good stuff GM. Next matchup... Well, we all know what that will be.

Car and Driver tested it at Indy in the 1/4 mile. 12.3 @ 119. The track was crap so we can assume a .1 or .2 second decrese on average in time with better conditions. We will see a stock ZL1 run 11s one day, just not that day.

Nice story, so the ZL1 has now knocked off Ford's prized Boss which was marketed as a turnkey racecar. Now we have to listen to the Ford gang cry hp advantage of the Chevy, but reading the story, the editors clearly thought the ZL1 had the superior suspension, brakes, and technology all while being 400 lbs heavier.

I would HOPE that Chevyd prized factory flagship Camaro is better than the 13 NA Boss. Maybe I am crazy buy it kinda makes sense. Next up... the 13 GT500.

I would say the boss is more along the lines of being compaired to a camaro ss not the zl1. The prices are closer, and the boss takes that one, the only true comparison between the zl1 is a gt500. Which 2012 for 2012 I think the zl1 will have the advantage.

Yes but don't forget Ford marketed this Boss as a "Turnkey Racecar" and the absolute standard in an domestic course ready vehicle. Ford painted itself into this corner, now they must best the ZL1 with the 13 GT500 or upgrade the Boss.

Both will happen. I think the 12 GT500 w/the FRPP would be a good matchup, but thats not the case here. ZL1 vs Boss and the better car for the scenario won.

Yep, its the same arguement the SS guys had when the SS was compared to the GT500... Soon the top dogs will hit the strip and track and we will see who walks away (no pun intended)

Which IMO, the GT500 DESTROYS the SS on every level.

5.0 <> SS
Boss <> SS
GT500 <>ZL1
ZR1 > ALL.

That's how it should be broken down.

The Boss beats the SS in a Straight line, and around a track. The 5.0 and the SS are basically dead even in a straight line, and the 5.0 running around the track a bit faster. The GT500 and ZL1 CANNOT be compared as they still don't "exist" and only "exist" on paper for the time being.

I have seen the LS Boss faster than the GT500 around Laguna Seca so the ZL1 shoul not have a problem posting better times than it as well. The 2013 GT500 is what we should be looking forward to seeing vs ZL1. New vs New.

What are the similarities between a 550hp GT500 and a 650hp GT500.....

They both run 13s.

Agree 100% here. To the last part, the ZL1 must exist if it ran against a Boss.
