That sucks. Everyone talks like the Solos are immune from the dreaded intermittent check engine light. Makes me rethink the idea . . .

Don't worry about getting a cel, if you do add one of these to the extender Solo gives you
and forgeddabot CELs as you won't see them again

Two questions concerning these extensions:

1. Install ON TOP of the extenders already included with the Solos? If not, might as well get the cheaper JBA HFCs, no?

2. If yes to on top, would we need the angled extensions at that point because of running out of room?

Do the SOLO extenders (which appear to not be working for the OP) have the mini catalyst guts that the extenders do from Big Daddies Garage? Or are they just extenders?

The extenders are installed. I've driven the car probably about 150 miles before the CEL came on. The SOLO extenders are just extenders.

Currently the battery is disconnected and has been all night and I will be checking if the O2 sensors are secure today.

Good info, and I wish you guys luck.

If the Solo extenders are just hollow spacers that aren't 100% reliable, it makes me think they are not worth the premium over the JBAs (which are much more infamous for the CEL).

While it doesn't help you guys now, I'm wondering if buying the JBAs with the extenders from Big Daddies is the best way to go.

I'm thinking that as well too now but it is a bit too late to save the money for me. That was the only reason I bought SOLO over JBA was the SOLOs already came with extenders and arnt supposed to give a CEL

My update: I reconnected the battery and no CEL. I took the car on a ~5 mile test drive with low rpm cruise some heavy engine load high gear 2500-4k rpm pulls and a few WOT redline pulls. So far no CEL. The car sounded a little different starting up (even for a cold start). I'm thinking its the computer relearning since I never unplugged the battery during the install of any of my mods. I'll keep updating and let you guys know if I get another CEL and I will get the code read if it happens again.

If the issue comes back I would contact SOLO and ask them for some help!

Just got back from getting my CEL cleared and these put on, so we'll see what happens. Im running Fontana next weekend so they will defiantly be put thru their paces.

Why is your batter disconnected? im assuming this clears the CEL?
