Amazing MPG

Over the last two days I checked the Average Fuel Consumption on a stretch of flat Highway (about 15 miles). My car is a 2014 1LS.
AFC @ 75 mph = 35.5
AFC @ 70 mph = 32.0
Why this discrepancy? going 5 mph faster I need less gas.
Anyway.......almost like a Prius.

Several things are probably contributing to that odd number. Even a very slight downgrade will help your mileage.

Also, the fuel consumption indicators on basically every car are highly inaccurate.

Weather, temp, humidity, wind, all those sorts of things could affect.

...plus how can you actually duplicate every control input you made? Even if the DIC was 100% accurate, lug the engine by 50 rpm for 10 seconds and then stay in a gear for 100 rpm too many, and there goes your test

In my tractor trailer, if I have good wind, I can make two round trips to Columbus Ohio and back to KY, but even with slight wind against me, makes me lose up to six gallons. I know there's a huge difference between a Camaro and a semi, but just proves the wind hypothesis to this post.

it does bring us to vehicle weight on each time he drove the Camaro though: full tank on one test, 1/4 full on the next, that will make a difference too

I have a question... How are you getting such high numbers? Are you resetting your average often?

My DIC is pretty accurate - it says 19.8 but only cuz I took a trip few days ago. Usually it says 14.ish all city driving and I calculated it the ol fashion way.

Anyone can do that , but it's not a good reading for what the car makes on reality
Driving at X speed and push the reset switch , hold the gas pedal steady at the peed you are going on a flat area , bammmm , 60mpg , so freaking what ?

Yeah, that's why I was asking. I haven't reset mine in about a year and I'm getting about 19. Maybe the OP should redo his tests over the course of a week or more and see what different numbers he gets

One time I left Fargo from my dorm room and borrowed my friends 82 Escort with a 5 speed. With a 40 mpg tailwind I made it the 232 miles using less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Think it equated to 83 mpg

15 miles is not much of a test, but if all you do is drive on flat highways you'll probably get good MPGs... (upper 20s, maybe 30 since it's an LS) but not as good as on your mini-test. Run your test on varying roads for a full tank (not resetting MPGs), then see what your numbers are.
