2013 Black & White LFX

Was looking at replacing our Fusion family car but came across this '13 1LT RS last spring. So much for a new family car.
So long Fusion...

Starting with the simple stuff..
Cleaned the carpet real good. Removed old floor mats and placed new ones along with a trunk mat to match.

New DRLs. New on right, old left. Big difference. Also installed the adapter to keep them on while the headlights are on.

Broke out the plasti-dip for the tail light bezels. Practically EVERYONE does black so wanting to be different I decided to go with white. I have since painted them with regular gloss white since I liked the look so much.

Found these LED door sill plates on eBay. Couldn't resist. Planning on painting them either black or white at some point.

Followed the auto shift boot install found here on the forums. Picked up a 4 pack gauge kit from Gen5DIY and spray paint from Wal Mart.

Not pictured, removed the cigarette lighter and installed a covered dual usb port into the location.

Wanted to keep the factory stereo but needed a sound upgrade. Bought new Kickers for front and back. Put Fosgate 12" subs in the trunk. A couple of Fosgate amps mounted to the back seat and a sound processor finished the job.

Expanded the white paint to interior trim. Can't tell but put red LEDs behind the door handle and in map pockets.

IMG_20170916_115315 by J N, on Flickr

Added a glow-tie on the rear. Red with brakes on.

Otherwise white...

Cold Air Inductions cai installed. Changed the sound of the car so much. Love, love, love that noise!

Then...
Just love louvers...always have. I know they aren't for everyone but it's my car!

At the show... and painted the front bowtie.

The result: third place 2010 and up!

New tires and wheels were needed...
Bought from this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472834 Chose the MRR M017s in gunmetal with the standard Lexani tires in 275 front and 315 rear.
Delivered super fast and easy to order over the phone. Al sent me a PayPal invoice after talking with him and I received my goodies in just 8 days!

Second show netted this plaque with a photo of my car mounted to it.

IMG_20180307_234922 by J N, on Flickr

Pic below is from my third show I attended held at the local AFB. I thought the flags would score some brownie points. It didn't. Did not place in this show.

IMG_20171104_104049 by J N, on Flickr

In addition to the wheels and tires, I also added a Camaro banner across the windshield and brake covers from Phastek. Should have gone with white but thinking they would be dirty all the time. Vinyl stripes added to the faux brake inlets - a bit before these photos. Applied black and white RS badging to sides and trunk. Deleted RS badge from grill.
While I was changing wheels, I brushed the rust off the hubs and painted the area around the lugs black.

Installed air scoop and washer bottle relocate from Phastek. The water bottle didn't fit where it was supposed to. A) It would have been blocking access to the DRL and B) the bottle pushed the fender well out making the tire rub when turning to the right (275 tires on front). Moved the bottle down lower on the scoop and a bit forward. This fixed both problems.

This is the material I pulled out from behind the grill for the scoop.

IMG_20171111_164737 by J N, on Flickr

This is how I ended up mounting the bottle to the scoop for clearance. Only held on by two bolts but that should be more than enough.

IMG_20171112_085321 by J N, on Flickr

All mounted up

IMG_20171112_093857 by J N, on Flickr

Can see a bit of the scoop thru the lower grill

IMG_20171111_164838 by J N, on Flickr

Looking down thru the CAI at scoop and bottle. For reference the front of the car is to the upper left. You can clearly see why the bottle wouldn't work where the pre-drilled holes were.

Installed Elite catch can and clean side separator this weekend...

Top Flight eyes on headlight covers for shows/cruises. Don't really like these. They didn't go on easy because the covers are curved and these are obviously made for a flatter surface. Thinking of just getting the covers airbrushed.

IMG_20180309_162521 by J N, on Flickr

About to replace my front bowtie with a similarly painted glowtie.

IMG_20180312_031729 by J N, on Flickr

Have removed all badges and vinyl accents. Going Tuesday for paint correction and ceramic coating.

Ceramic coating done. Went to a show Saturday sans emblems (still too early to put them back on). Felt kinda naked without her markings, but oh well. Seemed to work just fine (see below).
Ordered an ACS T5 splitter and ZL1 grille. Also hit up River City Creations for some new emblems. Will be working on that next. Hopefully ZL1 rockers after that.
In the meantime, this happened....

The catch can is working. Unsure how many miles this is but it's probably 15cc or so of yuckiness.

IMG_20180412_101228 by J N, on Flickr

Got side gills and scripted Camaro lettering on a few days after the ceramic coating was dry. Put TredWear letters on the other day too.

I've got parts (rockers, splitter, etc) sitting in my living room awaiting to go on. Just waiting for a break in the weather. A friend of mine will do the painting soon and hopefully on before the end of May.
