I would recommend getting MSD Spark plug wires and some spark plug wire sleeves. When I had my cam installed a few months ago I had them change the change the spark plugs to NGK TR6’s and they told me when they pulled the wires it just fell apart on all of them. I had the Taylor racing spark plug wires sleeves as well. They got me some MSD wires and reused the sleeves. I had the Taylor racing spark plugs for a few years though.

Either way I still think it's a crazy suggestion. Plug wires are inexpensive and so are heat protective socks. No need to MacGyver a solution in this situation.

Trimming the boot and trimming the wire are two very different things.

Thank you all for the feedback! I disappeared for a while, but I am back after finishing my long tube install.
I did end up trimming some rubber off the plug just for now. Driving in this condition will be minimal, as I just took it to my installer for the cam. Quote:
I agree, I'll be sending some PMs! Much appreciate all the help and feedback! |

Unfortunately Amazon gets the money because the prices are the best and they have a monopoly on fast shipping

100% right. I prefer to buy from sponsors if price is close, Amazon always wins in price but within a couple dollars I'm OK with it. But with that shipping speed usually kills that option. Amazon can have it to my door in 2 days for free. Some, not all, sponsors don't even ship in two days. Most sponsors also ship ground for cost reasons but that means it takes about a week to get after it's shipped.

Depends on whose headers you bought. I have a 2010 L99 SS and didn’t have to get anything other than my headers and some new header gaskets for piece of mind (O2 extensions were standard with my set of headers).
