This is part of the QC testing!

This is a video of some of the QC testing.
Can't be Fbodfather doing some 'mechanical reliabilty' testing. His CTF car is black!

Funny story about that burnout...

Tony Roma, Camaro engineer, was the guy piloting the first time...the track was wet...and he managed to pull off three successful burnouts with the same car, consecutively.

He tried for a fourth -- but all it did was spin the tires a couple of times and stop. He got out to inspect, and discovered the Eagle F1s were "gooey"...they were SO sticky, he said he couldn't get all 580 hp to spin them in first.

Sounds good for a drag strip, if you ask me.

And the sound. OH, the SOUND!!! The ZL1 sounded like it was yelling some primeval battle-cry at the top of it's lungs.

IMVHO, this car has bar-none, the BEST sounding exhaust system of them all. The only thing I think could make it better is some headers to add a little volume and lope. But DANG!!! It's an intimidating sound, the ZL1 makes.

I just cringe when I see these sorts of burnouts for nothing. Makes sense to warm the tires or clean them at a track, but just to deliberately ruin tires like this seems very foolish.

Its not an official burnout until its done in front of law enforcement parked eating their lunch, yes I have experience at this.

I wish you could have seen the room full of about 15 non-car enthusiast jounalists (some of them at least)...jump to the windows as soon as they heard the tires screaming and the ZL1 bellowing...

I think it's something like an instinct to like this stuff...

Hey, we will all have to agree it's foolish, but we are all nuts about the cars and it's just plain fun. You could make the argument that it's foolish to spend 55K just to get from point a to point b too, but we are more than that.

It's not a burn out vid, but this drive along video filmed from the cabin = I am very excite.

This thing sounds nasty in the cabin, one of the best sounds I've ever heard from a stock vehicle. From docile to animal at the drop of a pedal.
