UNHAPPY CANADIAN WITH A ZL1 ON ORDER

Hi Guys just need to vent so i order a 2013 in April and was hoping to have the car in AUG and so did my dealer real good guys in Ontario. So i thought i would touch base and see how things are going the other day. I was all excited for him to tell me right no time but this was not the case. You see another gentelman ordered a 2012 before me at that dealer and GM pushed that car to a 2013 due to the hold up as every one knows. So his car is coming to him in AUG happy for him . But now GM has alloted only 1 ZL1 per dealer per year if your lucky. So GM says to the dealer o no you have had one 2013 car and will have to wait tell when ever for my car neadless to say i am PD. the dealer is doing every thing they can but with my luck i will need snow tired. So looks like the only way a Canadian guy can have his car by Aug is if the US sales slow down well good luck . Every one and there grandmother want the best car made right guys. This sux thanks guys just needed to vent here

I can relate, I've been there before. Allocations are less than ideal sometimes. But it'll be worth it though, hang in there

You're not alone, one dealer claims they still have an allotment while the 'biggest' dealer which already used there's claims if anyone will get they will. Due to numbers, and Camaros they move. I actually have orders with both right now, and will be canceling one.

Either case it will be a 2013 and I will not see it until Jan. to about April of next year. I'm just not sure which to cancel and 'roll the dice' hoping the one I stick with will have it sooner...

In any case we're looking at the 2013 model year, and if these guys already used their allotment you could always call around for a dealer that still has one... hopefully there will be one and not try to sell to you above MSRP. Good luck!

My dealer said they had the rollover allocation from their 2012 that didn't get picked up. And then they only got 1 other 2013 coupe allocation which was actually given to them either last week or this week, can't remember exactly which he said. I figured they would have been spaced out more I mean my order was just pulled a few weeks ago and now they have their final allocation of the year pulled already. I figured it would be a couple months til they would get their original 2013 allocation. Now they just get to wait til next year to maybe get another couple and possibly a vert, cause they didn't get a vert allocation for this year yet.

Whats even more ridiculous is having to pay 5-10% more on the car.... When the dollar has been at par or above for a few years.

MRSP has been adjusted to gouge any money it can find in Canada.

I can relate also. I had a car on order for 4 months. Got called in to be told that my order was not picked up for 2012 production. They could not tell me when or how Chevy was handling the 2012 orders that where not picked up. I lucked into a car that was delivered to a dealer 45 miles away for stock. I signed papers within 4 hours of the car coming off the hauler. When I called the dealer the salesman didn't even know it was there. It was listed on Chevy's website. I recommend going to the site and entering your zip code to see if anything pops up in your area. Also I did NOT pay above sticker.

Not that high, I did run some builds on both sides of the border. We're talking only a few thousand. Also keep in mind, many dealers are jacking up the price especially to our friends down South.

Painful isn't it? I might be canceling with the big dealership, they already shipped a ZL1 and I think there is an order ahead of mine. Going to clear it up and cancel one order tomorrow.

Yup, Carter is the big one and you're ahead of me. They told me about delivery of the 2012 last week and already have an order in place. I think I should cancel with them then...

Just an FYI I think there's still some dealerships with allocations, my second order is with Eagle Ridge. Guessing I'll be sticking with them.

I think they have to be imported back into Canada, so GM has to pay to get them back to where they came from

Hey Razor, I know Eagle has the allocation and I have it. I have a relationship with Carter, if you want, I can cancel my Eagle Ridge order and let you take it if you would cancel your Carter order.

Just throwing it out there, all good if you don't want to.

That just doesn't sound right Ernie....you have ordered and paid have you not? I can understand that each dealer can only get one if they order it for stock...but seeing as a customer ordered it, they should not count that as dealer stock...seems odd.
