Not sure what you mean by "Christmas Tree Light" though.
I'm betting he means the individual bulb look that light up "silver white" that have a blue under-halo (that is due to how the White LED produces light in the first place) instead of, say, what Audi did going from the row of lights to a diffuser that gives the "eyebrow" a uniform look.

I lke it from the side, actually, but the styling to me is also 180* off- the taper to the profile looks like the rear should be the styling for the front, and vice-versa. It is very clean from the sides also, and then it gets all busied up abruptly. That's really the styling cue I dislike- the clean, subtle lines of the sides then erck erck erck abrupt radii leading to radical angles. It's a confused styling cue to me, but then again concept cars typically show off multiple things and so that was probably very much intentional.

I agree, something like the Ciel was meant to be dissected and used as different pieces (styling cues) than as a whole car coming to production.

I love it. CTS would be something I'd consider in the future...

Well, actually, it is a quote from Jeremy Clarkson from Top gear. He was making fun of some fancy car a few years back that had what he called "Fairie lights" on it, and it turns out that this is what they call the lights we put on our Christmas trees here in the USA.

The point that he didn't like is that they spread a bunch of individual LEDs across the surface of the light in a line and they look just like the "fairie lights" on a string. This was the stylists way of appealing to luxury car owners need for saying saying "HEY LOOK! I HAVE LEDS AND YOU DON'T, SUCKERS!!!!"

Soon, every autozone tack on LED light adopted this style, and luxury cars dropped it like a hot ball of burning magnesium! They now use lightpipes and diffusers to even the light out across the lens, rather than showing all the pinpoints of light.

I don't hate it so much on the tail lamps on cars, but for DRLs and marker lights, it looks crappy.

By the way, I believe that Cadillac was the first car maker to use LED taillights on the DTS back in like 2000 or 2001. I think I remember reading that.

BINGO! Uniform like, as opposed to autozone stick-on LED strips!

Still embargoed. Even though that's gone to hell by now.

This is why we can't have nice things. Some DA has to ruin it for everyone else.

Just a random thought.... where are the front turn signals? Beautiful car... Absolutely stunning in IMO. But that's the only thing I'm confused about... where did they integrate the front turn signals? I mean I've stared at the headlights and those running lights for like 10 minutes trying to figure it out... but I'm drawing a blank lol

Still embargoed Fen? These were leaked on Flickr, and I got them from Motor Trend. Man someone slipped up big time to let these all leak!
