I'm still waiting for a solid state laptop. The idea is out there they just need to perfect it. I wanna see how much better they will be over the HDD laptops. So for now my desktop will do. Those are good deals though, really good deals.

128 gigs is not bad at all I under the assumption that you can't squeeze alot of memory out of solid state drives

I'm done with the big-box companies. Never had a good experience. I always buy my parts from Newegg and build my own system. Much cheaper and much more reliable.

My desktop lasted 6 years in that time I have had two laptops both of which keep dying. Now I'm hoping my brother will build me a new desktop for Christmas.

IBM used to make the best laptops, IDK about them now, but i have one from 2000 where the back of the case is broken, dog ripped it off the table several times, It has been dropped God knows how many times and it still works like the day i bought it.

I hope dell doesn't Ruin Alienware... It was bad at first but seems to be a little better. my only concern with Solid state is Data recovery. Is it true that if the drive fails there is no way to get the data back?

I'm fond of HP now, but liked IBM for a long time. Before the sales gig, I was in I.T. for 18 years.....I sold a new dell last year, and the software needed to be restored from the supplied disks...the system was pokey ever since. They didn't have the deals they had last year at this time either. Best Buy actually beat the Dell internet price on one I bought for someone about 5 months ago.

I REALLY want to get a laptop....but just don't know which brand to go with. Every time I go into Sams Club, I check them out....which is usually the HP laptops. They have some pretty nice ones. And, since my home PC is an HP, I am used to the whole system. It's pretty good. I dunno...we'll see...lots to look at. I obviously need something that is super fast if I'm going to be reading a million post whorey posts a day!

My Dell's still going wrong. I only had one problem with it and I think it was because I asked a friend for some help; of course that's when it broke... No probems since *** knock on wood ***
