Does the V6 have enough power?
How long is a piece of string?

From what I've read so far, no one has been able to replicate the gains shown on the dyno by the prototype, and no one has run any 1/4 mile times that are more impressive than what's already been done.

That is exactly why i like solid, independent testing.. even better if I can do the testing myself...

Hmmmm.. 30rwhp? maybe for E38 SS tuned, but I highly doubt this for our E69. 15-20 seem more realistic as they advertised. I'll be hitting the dyno again soon to test out more timing for my E85.. so when I go in VR will be the first thing I will be testing to see how much I gained from my last dyno with factory intake. So I have a baseline to go by. different day and different time but it should be close.

Personally I think my V-6 has plenty of power for what I use it for which is exactly what you will have to decide. I don't do drag races nor do I race my car on the street and I normally put it on cruise control at 75mph. Maybe some day i'll invest in a V-8 if I want to race but right now knowing that I was one of the very few to have my '10 Camaro in Hawaii makes me happy. Now I am planning on making some nice upgrades to the interior minus destroying my trunk space by putting a plexiglass casing and sub together, which does look sweet, but I really would like to keep a usable trunk and get a nice amp/sub/speaker combo to go with my new Apline 910.

I juuust gotta get in on this....it would be great to have an ss/rs. However payments were more than we could budget. Yet, i couldnt be happier. I love my v6 camaro. While Im in the middle of modding for more power, it is one very very impressive v6. V6ers... hold your heads high...its an awesome camaro!!!

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this....found on my camera when going though old photos. Yep, the V6 Camaro is a nice upgrade for me Although, it was pretty sweet when MIVEC kicked in, yo!
It was the same old stuff on the Mitsu forums too, but it was "my V6 is better than your 4-banger."

Why is the word "afford" so frequently bounced around these threads? I can "afford" any car I want (within reason, say under 60k), and Ive had 2 5th gen Camaros - and theyve both been the v6. Never even considered the v8, zero interest in "mods", dont know and dont care what "catch cans" are. The car looks great, gets me where Im going with a smile on my face, and I still feel lucky to drive it/own it. I mean its a concept car brought to life - and they managed to keep it true to the concept. Bottom line, get what you want, but this elitist "if you cant afford it get the v6" stuff is kind of insulting- what is their, a 7k difference between an LS and an SS? (not talking about optioning them to the hilt) Does driving a car thats worth $7,000 more than mine put you in the next tax bracket or something?

I agree with Axe, a SS/RS is well within my budget but I saw (and still see) no need for 426hp on the street that requires 91 octane fuel. I love my v6 and am very pleased with the power it has. I got every option I wanted (every option in the book minus sun-roof and heavy RS package.) I also have fun modding and adding a little extra "umph" here and there. But I don't go drag racing (although I will probably hit the track once in a while), it's just not my top choice.
BTW, I could've had a 1SS for about 5k less than what I paid for my 2LT. I bought the exact car I wanted. |

My 6 is more than enough power for me. At averaging 28 mpg w/89 octane it's not bad at all. I also prefer zipping through the twistys than straight line performance.

How about a Test Drive before you ordered the car ???
Our LS was $23,700 with Auto trans - mats & spare..... The car runs just as good as a stock 350 with a 4bbl if not better.... The V6 is enough for us...... |
