About to pull the trigger....

Hey guys. Im currently the owner of an 86 Trans Am (46k orig. Miles) and an 01 SS with 125K miles. The 01 has seen better days despite all of my efforts and money to keep her going strong. So as of recently I started looking for a 5th gen to replace the 4th. I found a 2010 2SS, Black, 6-Speed manual, 15K miles and in IMMACULATE shape.

Tomorrow I go in to apply for the financing and everything and I figured id stop by here to see if you guys could maybe tell me if im making a mistake. Well more of if a 2010 is a mistake. Realistically id like a 2011-2012 but this kinda fell into my lap and i fell in love. Its fully loaded and downright mean looking. I even told myself that Black is my last choice but once i saw it, i knew the upkeep would be worth something so badass looking.

Enlighten me fellas, and I look forward to posting up pics within a few days

-Adam

I say go for it. Don't think you will be disappointed. Black is a pain to keep clean as many will tell you. But it looks so good when done right. My wife has a SIM and my firend let me drive his Rally Yellow for a couple of weeks before I got mine. I'm glad I did. The only color I would consider instead would have been the Synergy Green.

I have a 2010 2SS/RS and I got it slightly used. I got it in 2011 with 12K miles on it. Since then I've only put 9K miles on it but it's an awesome car. I can never keep a car I get stock so I'm always modifying it.

Here is my 2008 Colorado that I got brandie new off the show room floor:

modded to this:

With all of the mods I did, I loved the truck. However, when I found the Camaro, it was love at first sight. There was no hesitation whatsoever to make the trade.

I traded that Colorado that was 3 years old with 41K miles on, and customized.

No offense man, but it's a really good thing you traded in that truck...

I know what you mean. When I was car shopping I promised myself I wouldn't get another black car because of how hard they are to keep clean. But when I saw my Camaro, I immediately fell in love with her and a few days later she was in my garage. . If you already fell in love with that car, there is no turning back! Just keep it clean and black is a beautiful color!
Here is a pic of my car when clean for reference:

Do not forget to post pics of the car when you can!

I bought a 2010 2SS/RS M6 9800 miles on it a month ago, I love it, I have never owned a car that people stop and stare at and come up and ask about it. I live in a very small town, its the only Camaro around so it gets a lot of attention.

My car looks identical to Paul's with the exception of being a 2LT, and I get so many compliments on the thing.

Yes, it is a pain to keep clean. I don't mind that right now as much as the heat though. If it's gonna be a DD at all for you, and you live anywhere remotely hot or humid...man. The thing traps heat and won't let it go. I leave my windows and roof cracked, then get in and turn on the A/C with everything down and it still takes a few minutes to get semi-comfortable.

Totally worth it though. Hope you enjoy And nothing is wrong with the 2010's. You won't get a HUD, that's about it though. GM made a quality car no matter if you get an LS or a ZL1 (assuming the Z/28 will follow suit with flying colors but we haven't had anyone with one on here yet )

LOL.

personally i like the Colorado. it's a nifty little truck.

Thinking of maybe getting an old beater colorado for those winter months when my Camaro is going to be resting in the Garage. The Ford ranger looks nicer but I gotta rep that bowtie

Well, atleast the new Silverado is the nicest truck currently!
