NASCAR and Kurt Busch

So Kurt is suspended indefinitely for allegation of domestic assault. I don't want to go down a path here about domestic assault, it is horrible.

But NASCAR, is pretty much saying, if you assault someone in your motorhome, you are suspended indefinitely, but if you jump out of your car and attack another driver with 50 camera's recording, it's a fine and you lose some points.

I'm not sure if they are promoting beating the crap out of other drivers or not. Hopefully a husband and wife will never drive on the same track in NASCAR because that would really confuse them on how to hand down the punishment.

If Busch is guilty, yes punish him accordingly. But if you are going to do that, you need to be consistent in what you are punishing here. Because how many times have we seen drivers, just last year, throw punches, start fights, ram other cars with their car, and just go bat-a$$ crazy because they can't control their tempers. You cannot say, you can punch another driver and drive the following week, but assault your significant other and banned for life. Ban them for both or either.

No, NASCAR is saying that if somebody just accuses you of domestic violence with no poof at all because they want to ruin you then you will be suspended. I hate Kurt Bush but this is some BS.

I have no idea whether Kurt is guilty in this case but I do realize he has been batsh*t crazy since he won the cup way back when. Seems his head swelled up and that rant about his car when Mr. Penske had to get on the headset and give Kurt a behavior correction was classic racing history. I was not a Kurt fan either until I watched that Fox/Speed/FS1 docudrama called Kurt Busch:Outlaw. Enjoyed that very much and recommend it to any Nascar fan.

NASCAR and Chevrolet both have had a knee-jerk reaction based on being PC but are also sick and tired of Kurt Busch's history. While he's guilty of many things, I would question whether there's any guilt in this instance. Amazing how a single judge can determine someone's fate based on 'he said/she said' with no physical evidence on a charge that was brought up 2 months after the fact. Apparently his only crime was dumping her. Been there. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. After the instances in the NFL, NASCAR is trying to show they're on the bandwagon. I hope someday the truth comes out and he sues the crap out of everyone involved. If NASCAR is so in-tune with this, how is it that Travis Kvapil is still racing? Never even a suggestion of him being suspended for his domestic assault CONVICTION

One of my top 5 reasons for no longer really watching NASCAR. I watched the Daytona 500 with my Dad, and I'll tune in for an occasional road course race, but there are so many other, better racing series out there that let drivers DRIVE, and racers RACE.

Going after a driver in the heat of the moment is one thing, choking your woman out of anger is something else and there is evidence that Kurt did that. Family court saw reason to be concerned and violence towards women can't be tolerated under any circumstances.

For right now he is going to pay the price.

I just don't care about any of it anymore. Jeff Gordon's getting out at a good time. I got a feeling Dale Jr. wouldn't mind getting out himself. Being a Nascar champion these days doesn't mean much. Not like it used to.

No doubt Kurt Busch has some issues............multiple incidences of bad behavior. Is he guilty of this? Not sure, wasn't privy to all the details in the court hearing. Is someone guilty until proven innocent, not sure.

Domestic abuse is a serious issue, but did he do it?

Professional athletics is getting very serious about domestic abuse and even in football they are suspending players.

For sure a gray area................

And yet, the police saw no reason to be concerned. In fact, he was never even brought up on charges.

This is why this whole thing is bogus...

I won't argue that domestic violence deserves very harsh and swift punishments...but without proof, this is just BS and I hope he really is innocent of the charges just so he can stick it to NASCAR.

They made no efforts to go after Kvapil about his CONVICTION, but a "family" court, not even the actual normal courts for cases like assault, decides he did something to her....and he's suspended indefinitely?

Just not seeing it..

I think they were actually made for each other. Bi-polar opposites do attract.

wait a minute, not sure if you mean what you are saying here.

Choking/punching another racer out in the heat of the moment is nothing compared to choking your woman out in the heat of the moment?

Could you shed more light on this thought process?

violence toward men or women should not be tolerated, but you can't go on he-said - she-said story either.
