iphone weirdness - volume level

I have a 2010 SS, and use my iphone 5 for music, via USB cable. (no MyLink) I just wanted to share a little information in case others are having a similar issue with volume.

I was on iOS 7.x for a long long time, just a couple weeks ago I upgraded to iOS 8.x. Ever since then, when indexing or playing music, it's a little 'glitchy' to say the least. At times, it will not index all the songs (easy fix, go into the setup and select "Play All Songs"). But the biggest issue I was having was the volume level was about half. If I put the radio on FM, the volume played normal, so I knew it was not my amp, not the radio, not the car, but my iphone. Playing with all the iTune settings did NOTHING for fixing the volume level.

After hunting the internet, found it was an issue with Facebook. Which sounded odd. So I go to the car, plug in the iphone, music is half volume as expected. I then closed Facebook and the volume immediate went back to normal. WTH Facebook, stop screwing up iTunes music.

Hope if helps.

Hank, don't you have a 2SSRS and if so, don't you have Bluetooth? I use my iPhone with the car and pair the phone to the car and then play my music that way. I only use the USB when I need a charge but haven't have a volume issue though I make sure the phone on my phone is on high before I connect.

FYI it appears to be any app that uses audio or video on the phone, same issue with youtube, a couple of games, etc.

close the apps before playing music I guess.

as for the comment about using Bluetooth.. audio via Bluetooth sucks worse, the bandwidth for Bluetooth is horrible you lose al the bottom end and the compressed music sounds horrible, it is already compressed on the phone then recompressed to send via Bluetooth.

Bluetooth compresses the sound A LOT. If you really want the most out of your music, connection via cable will give you the best option.
