i dont care what the LSA was initially released for, the point is that when it was released for the Camaro, the reception from US (The Camaro Community) was more thrilled than the LS7..

A) You're absolutely right...but I seriously doubt the lucky few who buy this car are going to strip it to its core and race it. HPDE it maybe, but not gutted/stripped. A used Gen-5 SS and the Chev Performance Parts Book and/or aftermarket sources would be a wiser route to an all-out road course terror, if budget is a concern...

Some might, most won't...unless there's a SERIES created for cars of this ilk! Hmmmm...

B) Peruse this very Section, particularly the Pedders thread ( http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149090 ), and you'll find a cadre' of Camaro folks who had a crystal-clear vision of what a Z/28 could/should/will be and you'll find, now, 2 schools:

1) Those who were VERY happy the ZL1 was thusly named. Those who seriously sought an augmented 1LE with LS7 power and a lower Curb Weight and "enhanced FE4 suspension" without MRC, built sooner and therefore defraying co$t$ more broadly to enable a lower price tag AND broader market penetration...and;

2) Those who sought a COPO-for-the-road-course-with-a-VIN version...who obviously were closer to the mark because they KNEW the time required and, therefore, the limited number to be built to defray those program-necessary costs. So, "while we're at it, let's make this version a true BENCHMARK...for ALL others to shoot for"...which is what we're all getting.

And, frankly, we should be proud of what that will be, price included. It'll own an $89,995 BOSS 302 S (let alone an LS) on equivalent tires, cost less, have a VIN, be streetable, be insurable...and be more "fun" more often.

Now, let's hope the Gen-6 Z/28 arrives in a much more timely fashion, beats this version in most metrics, and costs somewhere closer to what we had initially hoped for for the Gen-5 version. THAT one I anxiously await, as well...

damn that is a lot of money. I think it would be better to build a Z28 equivalent using aftermarket products.

Not that the Z28 is bad or anything. It is awesome. Just sayin it may be more fun to build one instead.

That's not what you said. You said the only exclusivity you were getting with the Z/28 was the suspension, which is wrong.

I was excited to get the LS7 in a Camaro. I don't care what other people like.

I'm gonna use what Justice Pete said once as a back-up...(hope he doesn't mind...lol)....that was if price is between 75-80K, GM would be giving them away...

...gonna stick with my original guess in the other thread: 100K....(sorry)....

I had a response to this comment, but the mods got upset... you know what happens when you tell people their ugly kids are ugly..

Russo, which would you rather have for YOUR $80 or $90Gs: A BOSS 302S, or a Z/28? Simple question, which requires NO comment on the beauty of anyone's progeny...

Now, what happens if the ZEE comes in at "under-$70"?

Frankly, at this very moment, NO ONE KNOWS, YET...

for that price range I would buy a 2012 GTR or a new M3 and pocket the extra cash.. if I had to choose between those two I would get the z28.. if it was the next body style Mustang and they made a Boss 302 LS, I would buy that over a z28... I would admit, something about buying track car for the street turns me off.. only people who could do it right are the Germans and I wouldn't even buy a Black Series Benz

So NOW we're getting somewhere...why are you even in the Z/28 section when the Z/28 is CLEARLY a track car for the street?

Thank you for your insight...

I was told in july from a pretty smart guy who "spoke with an unnamed gm engineer at the nyc launch" and he was told @100k. This is a seasoned bmw track guy and has no skin in the game either way and I believe he was told that…whether that is true is another matter.
