what would you do in this situation? 1LE OR ZL1
Just looking for some input as some of you know I just bought a 14 1le that has had 80% + of the car repainted with a horrible paint job that was undisclosed to me at time of purchase. To correct the matter the dealer has offered me an even swap for a slightly used 14 zl1 in red hot with a cai intake and aftermarket rear suspension parts. The zl1 seems in perfect shape but the clutch feels a little off like its not grabbing like it should. Dealer is supposed to check clutch today. Dealer would be giving me total value owed for my trade and giving me the zl1 for same price
Question is what would you do keep the 14 1le that needs about 5800 in paintwork to make it right or take the zl1 with a few aftermarket parts? |

Even swap, I would be driving out in the ZL1.

Hard decision since I personally am not a fan of the front end of the ZL1, I much prefer the updated front end and rear end of the 14 1LE. So ZL1 is a better car, 1LE is a better looking one IMO.

Zl1 for me,but I'd be not too trusting of those shysters since they tried to dump a car on you with serious issues already, and u already have questions about the clutch.Would be hard for me to pass up that ZL1,but that might be what the dealer is using as his ace card,if the zl1 has issues.

Im with you, the new designed front and rear have both grown on me along with those bright new halos but I am a power monger and the zl1 front end still looks just fine for way more ponies. I will miss the recaros though but hopefully they will one day be available through parts dept.

I would go for a NEW car, even a plain ol' SS.
And not an ALMOST new car, based on your experience with the dealer so far. Ask your self, why does the dealer have a "slightly" used ZL1? |

Supposedly they picked it up to appease this situation. They had grabbed a 14 stingray also that they offered me initially but I wouldnt settle for an automatic and it wouldnt have been an even swap either.

Be careful. A worn clutch may not be not a warranty item.
I think you have the upper hand since the dealer has been caught lying. If I were in your shoes, I would go for a new new car, even if it's a lesser model or if you have to pay the difference. Then never go back to that dealer for anything. |

Zl1 as long as it will have a warranty. If it were me I would have done it & not looked back. It's a zl1.

I would do NEITHER, as I wouldn't trust anything directly off their lot at this point. You can do searches on AutoTrader and find the car you want and have them trailor it in. Make sure they know not to touch the car, no detailing, NOTHING. Just pull it off the trailor and let it sit where it is until you get there.
