Hurst short throw shifter discontinued no longer available
I was told today by a gm district manager the hurst short throw can no longer be ordered on the camaro. Chevrolet is going to offer a replacement but will not be available for order until late january for ordering.

Seems like a no brainer to simply offer the ZL1 shifter.

Or any other shifter that doesn't rattle like a diamondback

Question is, will the late January time frame actually happen? I need to order no later then the end of January to ensure I will be ready to roll come April 1st. Anyone have any experience with time frames with gm? If they say late January, what is the odds this will really happen?

I tjhink I would order the car and if a new shifter comes out, have it dealer-installed. The '13 piolished wheels are on constraint 'til who knows when. Can't wait for the wheels- ordered 2 weeks ago.

I think this is good advise. Yep, I am aware of the wheel situation as well.

There are alternatives. But nothing I'd pay a dealer to install, unless you know the dealer and can get a deal on the shop fee.

The aftermarket Hurst is better and cheaper. Order the car and DIY. Easy to install.

I put the Hurst after market shifter in My 2010 SS back in the good ol' days of 2009. I had My dealer install it. It's still rock solid and its still one of the best mods I've done!
