Looks good on launch, I think my issue is my car being lowered so she doesnt like to squat with the stiffer springs in the rear

It seems as if I hit the light during the burnout, the 3-4 doesn't light up....thinkin about contacting MSD to see what the deal is...it's the model that has programmable 1 thru 4 shift points.

is your car done?

Should be back this week. Maybe Lebanon Valley on Saturday. I need to order a light. I will probably get one of the Speed Hut lights - they have a launch mode and you can set your shift point for each gear.

That's what I went with. No regrets. Also got the obd one so I didn't have to do any crazy wiring to make it work. Just plug and play.

Been awhile so I decided to post a couple of pic's of my old clutch. Now I know why my 60's did not improve and why my clutch stank after every burn out. Still, drove the sucker to and from c'fest incl. draggin and one more T&T at my local track and held with no prob on the street.

went with a stock replacement off of ebay for $130...had like 6k on it and incl the slave. Added the Tick billet bearing support, speed bleeder and braided clutch line(also off of ebay-used)

The results so far have been outstanding and comparing wot datalogs shows less rpm loss between shifts. So hopefully this all translates to some nice 1/4 times.

peace

Frank

I've enjoyed reading through your thread. I'm planning to do some racing with my car this spring, so it's cool to see someone else starting out like I will be soon.

My stock clutch looked much like yours did when I removed it. Still held pretty good until I tried a 2nd gear burn out one day... lol

I can appreciate a build on a budget, and it sounds like you got a good deal on a near new clutch set. I'm not trying to flame you, but I just couldn't resist the urge to post this....

lol. actually more of a daily driver than a dedicated drag...as for how it will do, BFASTNOTLAST was able to get into the 10's on the stock clutch and it still looked O.K. when he pulled it to go auto.

Glad you liked the read!

Glad you have a sense of humor because I wasn't sure how that joke would go over...

Seriously though, I think that a lot of guys on here (myself included) end up with way more clutch than they actually need. Mine is rated for 800HP and my car will probably never make 600. I'm sure stock is totally sufficient for the occasional trip down the track.

I'll be looking forward to reading more about your racing adventures.

Hey all, finally back into the swing of things after a short hiatus. Namely getting your left knee replaced puts a damper on driving a clutch. I used the down time to find what I hope is the solution to my 60' woes...'vette 17x9.5 and Hoosier DR2's. Getting these rims to fit is a story in it self.

Weather is supposed to be clear with predicted DA's in the 2k's.
