TPS sensors

Hi, I have a question, I hope someone has experiance with. I just traded my stock rim and tires from my 2012 SS with another 2010 camaro and now my tps on my wheels say they are not working. My question is will the 2010 sensors re program to my 2012 ss?

Yes the system may only need to relearn the new TPs modules, not sure if you can do it yourself on 2012 or need to take to dealer and they have to put a tool on. Take a look in your owners manual and see what it says. The TPS modules could be bad and may have to be replaced, you can't get them from GM parts direct ( I think that the name) for around $50 each, and they are OEM, don't but them from the dealer.

Would anyone know where we could buy the reset tool for cheap ? It's such a pain running to a tire shop every spring and fall for me.

On my 2010 the relearn is in the settings menu. I have to do it twice a year when I swap my winter wheels over.

yes the 10 sensors will work and you do need the tool or the dealer should do it for free on the 2012. takes 5 min for them to do. some time in 2011 GM decided that it was too dangerous to have people reseting their own sensors because if you slash the tire of the car next to you and dont let the air out of your own tire as your resetting them you may pick up the tire you slashed that has air rapidly draining form it. causing you to not get a reading that will result in many children and little puppies killed.

I should have bought a ZL1

Just an update on this tps issue, if you have a discount tire in your area they will relearn the sensors for free, I did give the guy a 20$ tip. I previously went to my local chevy dealership and the csr said they do not do anything for free. that they would need to do a diagnostic check and see what needs to be done. of coarse they were trying to rip me off and I would have left 100$ out of my pocket!!! Hate dealerships!!!!

If you can do it yourself it says in the manual how to. You have to reset them, fill or release air in tires, drive around for a bit, let the tires sit, then fill or release air again, something along those lines...
