2013 ZL1 #7922
2013 ZL1 #7922 is home and resting comfortably in my garage.
I traded my 2011 SS in for it last week, and so far I'm loving it. It's an A6, sunroof, nav, and polished wheels. I had a build thread going for the SS but very rarely ever kept it updated. I intend to keep this one updated. The SS had gotten to a point that I was ready to start spending some significant money on it if I wanted to reliably achieve my goals of having a 10 second FI daily driver. After talking with Andy at ADM Performance, the decision was made that the ZL1 is a better platform for me and my goals. Plus....it's damn sexy! I bought the ZL1 last thursday from the same dealer that I bought my SS from almost exactly 2 years ago. I was actually ready to go buy a new F150 for a daily and keep the SS as a toy, but when I saw the ZL1 I couldn't help myself. Here's a shot of it still sitting at the dealership. I had gone back outside to look at it one more time, shot this picture, then walked in and signed the papers. |

Thanks Kurt!
If they made an aqua blue ZL1, that's what I would have bought. You've got the best color for these cars, IMO, by far! |

Thanks. I agree, but that white is by far the easiest color to coordinate with other colors there is...and it looks outstanding...

I just can't stop looking at your ZL1!!
I drove a 2012 IOM ZL1. Our 2010 is fast, but when I got behind the wheel of the "IOM Land Rocket" that put a whole new meaning to the word..."thrust". Kurt ABL99...

Thanks, man! I appreciate that!
I've got some new pics that I need to get posted too. 1st set is 2 days after I brought it home, all cleaned up. The 2nd set is with a few little exterior appearance mods, all cleaned up. Just took those this morning but haven't had a chance to get them uploaded to my photobucket. |

I pulled a few cosmetic things off, but that's it. There's a mid 11 second capable SS sitting at Chuck Fairbanks Chevy in Desoto Tx.
Have at it! |

I went tuesday and had the windows tinted (I think 30%, whatever is legal here in Tx) all the way around.
I also pulled the white sidemarkers and tail light bezels off of my SS when I traded it in, and put them on the ZL1. I think this is my favorite so far... Here's a semi-decent shot of the ECF hood. And two shots of the engine bay. I think I want to have the engine cover and the strut bar painted black? |
