The Batmobile

Hey all. I should be receiving my 2014 camaro zl1 next week, its a black automatic with the 10 spokes rims. Having experienced v6 Camaro's only, what should I know about this beast prior to getting behind the wheel? Also, some tips on maintaining the black paint job and its carbon fiber weave insert would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Keep the rubber side down.

Totally different world from V6 to ZL1. Enjoy it.

Put on a diamond coat wax and use a trusted power polishing company to put it on. It looks great and protects the paint. (Dust is our enemy) Oh and about the difference from V6 - Supercharger....you'll find out right away. Nothing beats the sound, other than the power. Welcome to the ZL1 club.

Leave all nannies on until you get used to to the power. It can get away from you very easy if your not careful.

auto matic might automatically save you, but not if you play carelessly. hammer down could = tow.

The ease of driving the automatics can be a gift and curse.

i could kick myself now for not asking the sales person to let me test drive a ZL1 vert they had in showroom. that car sat for months, and i am sure my salesman would have allowed me when i bought my 2LT vert. even though i was not in a position fincially or really wanted to buy a ZL1, i was curious to take it for a spin and at least be able to say i drove one. it was 62K and sat for a year before they sold it.

Thanks guys, words can't describe how excited I am to get this ZL1. BTW below what temperature would us zl1/1le guys start to experience loss of traction with these tires? You know, with fall approaching and what not..

If your running with the F1's. I wouldn't recommend anything below +7. GM came out a notice/warning on how the rubber is to hard of a compound and will crack if driven below this temperature. Ask your dealership about it all. You'll defiantly loose traction/control with colder temps.

If your anal about it being clean, you can wash it, wax it, put it under a cover and never uncover it again.. Or you could wash it before you drive it and again right after you finish driving it. I think black is the most awesome color but is also a full time job. Enjoy the new beast, they are amazing
