idle rpm surge with cam

So I got the BTR Nightfury camshaft installed and now when I’m Coasting, the idle is surging up all the way to 2000. Could it be a vacuum leak? I have a code P0443 which is the evap system.

I was thinking that but it looks fine, CEL did come on right after I pumped. Also the 02 bank CEL’s came on with it. I’m thinking it may be a tuning issue seeing as I just got the car out of the shop

Check the o2 sensor wires. Might've gotten burned. Spark plug wires or tuning

Thanks for the feedback,I’ll check the 02 wires. I doubt it is a spark plug wire because it’s not pulling up a misfire.

Probably a tune problem

Mine has done the same thing after adding something a couple times. Your tuner should be able to take care of it.

Check to make sure you plugged this things back in. It has something to do with the EVAP system and when I did my cam i forgot to plug it back in.

I’ll check that when I get home, thanks. I was driving last night and tried to replicate the surging but it didn’t happen. Another thing is my battery voltage goes from 12.5 to 13.9 while driving. It shouldn’t drop to 12.5 while driving should it?

Yes if the battery is full no need to over charge it

Thanks that’s one less culprit lol. My CEL’s are saying it’s the upstream 02’s that aren’t reading anything. I need to get under it and see if the wires are burned or plugged in.

Mine didn't do it all the time either. Sometimes it would even die when idling down. My tuner rode with me with his laptop, made a few adjustments. All good now. Hope this helps,GL.
