I have headers, CAI and tune in the Camaro. CAI and Tune on the SS. The LS3 is just a better engine.

My 14 is the same way, with intake, secondary cat delete and LMS tune the car is a beast and just made for the highway.

I misread your post about gearing earlier. Sometimes it's hard to read these posts on a cell phone.

How much is it to get these cars cammed?

An L99 Camaro is about $4k. LS3 Camaro’s are about $1500 less because of all the DOD garbage on the L99. Does the auto SS sedan (damn that is such a stupid name!) have DOD?

Good to see GM didn’t give auto SS sedan owners the shaft.

I can concur with that statement as I was a fellow victim of dod lol. If the chevy ss was around when i was buying my camaro i probably would of went with the ss because of that reason.

The SS was built for one and only one reason. To be able to be qualified for NASCAR races.

Only 4-door sedans were allowed even though the racecars were built with two doors welded closed.

The idea was good as it emulated a prohibition era alcohol runner. Big sedans were used as they could fill the gas tank with grain alcohol and they removed the back seat to install a smaller fuel tank. Then they could outrace the border patrol. And, if necessary, they had a cable to empty the fuel tank, which, of course, caused the patrol cars to loose traction and skid off the road during a pursuit.

It was actually a good idea in those years and no, I never did that.

Actually they always ran 2 doors in NASCAR like the Monte Carlo and Thunderbird. There was quite the discussion in 1988 IIRC when Oldsmobile starting using a four dour 88 as they stopped making the 2 door.

Shoot, my fingers aren't as quick as my brain. That was during prohibition.
