Better late than never in Columbus, Ohio
Hoy all, after four years I finally own a 5th Gen Camaro. When Chevy put the 2010 Camaro up on their web site for build and pricing I got busy. I gravitated to the LT, simply for having a daily driver and to keep price and insurance rates down. I built an LT1 with the RS package in Aqua Blue/silver hood strips, gray interior 6spd manual.
At the time I had a '01 Blazer Extreme that I had to hang onto. I had to have a vehicle to get my mom and her wheelchair around in. So getting a Camaro was out of the picture. Sadly, mom passed away two years ago, so that freed me up to get the car I wanted. But life got in the way and I put the idea out of my head. I have purposely stayed away from getting close to a Camaro, just because if I did... Well, last month I was in touch with a friend in Detroit who wanted my antique desk. He has a '13 Inferno Orange SS. It's the only Camaro I've been close enough to touch. So the idea was back in my head. Another friend called the same day and had a spare ticket to the car show here in Columbus. The next day I was sitting in a '14 ZL1. I would have entertained the idea of new if Chevy left the head and tail lights alone. Sorry '14 owners, I don't like the change. Daydreaming, I started a search to see where the prices are for the pre-owned. The last thing I expected to see in the listings was the car I built on-line four years ago, here in town. With a couple of exceptions, white strips and sun roof, it was damn close. You know the rest of the story. This car is as much fun to drive as my 1st Gen Firebird 400 4spd convertible. I wish GM had kept the Pontiac division around so there would have been a factory 5th Gen Firebird and T/A. But having to wear a bow tie is ok with me. |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
