Arrow [COTW 6/21/10]: MY BABY BLUE B

Featured COTW on CAMARO5 HOMEPAGE.

Hello everyone, I’ve been hanging around the forum for a little over a year now. I have never been part of a forum so it has been a new experience for me. Everyone one on here is super nice, and we have made some great friends.

I ordered my baby in April 2009 for my birthday. Little did I know I would have to wait 5 month’s for her, I ordered from Mike Bradley at Selman Chevrolet in Orange.

My Perm-a-grin started on September 24th. I received that long awaited call that my baby had arrived. It was a crazy feeling, Mike left me a voice mail, and as I sat in my truck listening to the VM my heart was beating a million miles an hour. When I called Mike back he asked "How soon can you be here?" The next 6 hours was the longest 6 hours ever, had to wait for the hubby to get home so we could go pick her up.

The drive home was freaking AWESOME!!! OMG I never bought a car site unseen, but WOW!!! As my new Camaro brother David (Linkwpc) says “When you buy a car site unseen, it’s all about the passion! That is the difference between a car and a legend!”

She is my daily driver and I let my husband (comm54) drive me around on the weekends….
Here are some of the pictures from the pick up:

My first Mod...

I didn’t have my baby for more than a week and we did our first mod.
We did some research and found that T-REX has a facility in Corona, (where we live) this put my husband on a mission….
They loved the fact that we were local and that she was brand new off the lot. T-Rex used my car in their photo shoot and if you ever see their big banner at a car show, that would be my car.
We also added some new badging from the guys at DefendorWorx. My baby is also in the DefendwrWorx brochure showing off some of their products. Thanks to Brian and Timmy from DefenderWorx.....

In October we were lucky enough to meet Scott Settlemire at the Orange County auto show, what a nice guy and so willing to answer questions. Scott arranged parking for the Camaro 5 family that was attending the show and gave us a personal guided tour thru the Bumblebee exhibit. After the tour Scott honored us by coming out to the parking lot and signing our cars, and that was the day we found out about the born on date:

Hurst Short Throw Shifter

Our next mod was the Hurst Shifter, my husband installed it with a little help from one of our mini’s, I think he is well on his way to being a car guy:

1st Trip to the Streets of Willow

In January thanks to Camaro 5 brother Tribone AKA "G" we were introduced to Elana from Kahn Media. Elana invited us to Willow Springs to let the team from Hotchkis Suspension use my 2010 as the “STOCK” car for their new suspension package. They used another Camaro 5 brothers (Sam-Gotpball44) car as the "Modified Camaro", he had the sports suspension package on it. Here is the slip showing all the times of the tests performed that day.

Pic's and Video's from the track day

It was a long day, left before the sun was up, and got home after the sun went down, but it was an awesome day.
We had the opportunity to take the car out on the track a couple of times and wow….. little did they know they would turn me into a track junkie. Ha-ha

Well after seeing the numbers that convinced us we needed some suspension upgrades… so we now have the Hotchkis Sport Suspension Track Pack.

Special Thank you to John, Mark, Aaron, Cory, and Drew from Hotchkis. You guys rock!!

During that track day I was lucky enough to meet Mary Pozzi Auto Cross pro driver. She rode with me and gave me some one on one instruction.

As you can see Perm-a-grin still going strong....

In May we were invited by the Hotchkis Team to the Good Guys Auto Show and got our first taste of Auto Cross….OMG that was a rush.
I made history as the first 2010 Camaro to participate in the Good Guys Auto Cross.
