Heated steering wheel and wheel gap?
Anyone notice that the SS 1LE show car seems to have the wheel heat button on the steering wheel?
Is it just me or is the wheel gap huge on these cars? When my car arrived on the truck it had suspension spacers and looked like a 4x4 for a few days... I'm hoping that's the case here...

That is the 2LT steering wheel, the 2LT keeps all the goodies and still can get the 1LE package. The 1SS is just a 1SS but with HUD and leather.

Just realized that thanks ... Well the nice thing about the micro suede alcantara is it doesn't get as cold or take a lot to warm up as leather...
Any interior shots of the 1SS 1LE?

I'm sure I'll get a lot of eye rolls for this one, but I want to try and fit the 2LT 1le heated wheel to the 1SS 1le. I can have an upholstry shop install a heated seat kit on the recaros. The heated seats and wheel where my favorite parts of the 2 SS. Dual zone climate control and vented seats where just a bonus.

Hey man, buy it and make it how YOU want it. THAT is what makes a car really cool IMO.

Just noticed the other day that the v6 1LE wheel won't have the rev match paddles so that's a no go.
I wonder if it will be possible to fit the HVAC controls from the 2SS. I would even look into trying to fit the seat ventilators and heaters to work off the factory controls. Would be great to have a 2SS salvage car to swipe some parts out of. Maybe someone will fit aftermarket recaros to their 2ss and sell the seats on ebay some day.

Watched the V-8 video....
Looks to me any "lowering" to eliminate the wheel gap will have the front splitter practically dragging on the ground....Lowering the car just for looks may be problematic, if not un-doable because of MRC set-up and the splitter and aero ground effects... If anything, there may at one point be something like Z/28 fender flares to close the wheel-gap.... |

Na, there is plenty of space for a small drop. In all honestly, the front doesn't need that much of a drop. In the Chicago show pics it's the back that is way, way high. Drop the front about 1", and the back about 1.5" and it will level it off some, and bring it down a bit. Funny thing is the press photos show a car with a much better stance. My gut tells me they are still working on the ride height. Al O even said the car is not complete yet, and they still are working on some items...maybe Al O and team will see all the bitching in here about the ride height.

Well, so you won't feel bad, check out this wheel gap...lol....(stock shocks. 19" wheels)
I've since had it lowered with coil-overs... Bottom pic is after lowering... Last edited by 90503; 02-15-2016 at 11:55 PM. |

The steering wheels are modular as all the bezels, plastic shrouding and switches are removeable. The rev match paddles/harness and rear plastic cover will transfer from a SS wheel to v6 wheel. Just like you could tear down a complete c7 Z06 Vette wheel and put Camaro parts on it or vice versa. You would need the airbag clockspring from a 2SS( rev match and heated wheel together) as well to transfer power from that circuit through the column.

Here's a link to 6thGen Performance parts...I know it's early, and more stuff may show up, but I found it interesting there is a lowering kit available that specifically excludes MRC equipped Camaro....
http://www.chevrolet.com/performance...arts/2016.html I also couldn't find a lowering kit for the 5thGen ZL-1 (those I believe were standard with MRC)... Just sayin' perhaps lowering to eliminate wheel gap, or lowering for any reason, is not do-able or recommended. I am curious if anyone with MRC now in a 6thGen Camaro or 5thGen ZL-1 has lowered their cars with any lowering springs or other suspension components. Edit.... Quick search, found this....http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...hlight=lowered Perhaps it is doable on a Zl-1 but not ideal, and a pain, and avoid going too low...??? Just curious about this MRC and modding....It may have limitations...or from what I can tell so far, any changes will reduce the optimal performance track settings the 1LE comes with...Maybe it's no big deal, but I'd think twice before lowering just for looks...Changing out suspension parts may possibly affect warranty coverage??...
