2017 Camaro SS 1LE: Full ZL1LE Front End Swap + MRR 19" on 305's squared
Hey Guys,
Been a while since I posted on here. But just a month ago I got my car to its current state. Started as a standard 2017 SS 1LE Swapped the front clip with all GM OEM parts except hood, which I went with the Anderson Composites 1-piece CF hood. YOU DO NEED TO SWAP the fenders and the side skirts to do the front bumper or it will not line-up. So far: -GM ZL1LE Front Bumper, Fenders, Side Skirts -A/C Carbon Fiber front hood -MRR 19x10.5F 11R -Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 305/30/19 squared no rubbing or trimming needed. -Mbrp Axleback black tips -GM ZL1LE Tail Lights I attached a video so you can get a glimpse. Also my first video I made with my DJI Mavic so dont roast me lol, im getting better each time. As per more photos can be found on my IG if wanted @daveantonio92 Left on to do list: -GM ZL1LE CF spoiler (Ordered) expected 6/20 -HORSEPOWER, undecided wether to do a LT4 blower or procharge I want the most power per $ not looking to spend $10k Last edited by daveantonio92; 06-10-2018 at 03:09 PM. |

I have to ask. At what point would it be cheaper to have just traded your current car in on a ZL1 1LE? I would think that at some point that would be the case.

Can you list the offsets of the wheels and whether any spacers are used?

looks great! but the ZL1 badge has got to go IMO. Otherwise the car looks like a poser.

ZL1 Badge is coming off, the body shop did not want to remove it. So I agree!
No Spacers were put on the wheels, just used MRR lowest offset wheels in 19" config. MRR 716 I paid $40K OTD on my 1LE, the body work is in the $5000 range + $6000-7000 for a procharger. I'm at $11,000 + $40,000 so theoretically no still much cheaper than a ZL1LE but to make it clearer. At the time of buying this, I had a deposit of $5k on a 2017 Z06 brand new.... my home I was in contract on at the time fell through so for some moral bump I was buying a vette... Well 2 weeks later they call me and tell me I have a week to close and they were clear to close. So I dropped from a Z06 to a SS 1LE. It was a somewhat more responsible choice. I personally own 6 other 2017+ vehicles at the age of 25 I cannot justify $70-80k on a ZL1LE this year. NOW AFTER finishing this build I will be saving for a C8 Z06 or a Pre-Owned Ferrari 458 in 1-2 year expectance. |

Oh and I have magnetic ride control which drives me nuts the ZL1LE does not have it. I live in Long Island, NY home of the WORST roads & pot holes around lol.
So not having a mag ride, and having full track suspension is not an option for me. Also the reason for going to 19" wheels with goodyears 4s from 20" wheels with supercar tires. I prefer look of 20" but NY destroys rims and tires. |

Not to knock you. But is your math off? You still need to factor in the price of the wheels, tires and the spoiler that is on order. Those added to what you priced so far put you into ZL1 price. I understand not wanting the ZL11LE suspension in NYC. But a standard ZL1 with the addition of the spoiler/wing might have been a better investment. Either way it is good to see people doing mods.

There's a sleeper SS ... and then there's a wannabe Zl1. *sigh*
Prices will drop well on the Zl1 over time, even before the new generation comes out (if one does) and then you can get the 1le parts put on if desired and still have saved money, on a REAL Zl1. To each their own but I think this is a bit overkill.
