AHHHH Cracked Windshield!!!!

So, driving to work today and as I merged on to HWY 99 (satan's highway) a rock flew up and smacked my windshield. It took a nickel sized chip out of the glass. I WAS PISSED... but it gets worse. About a mile later I hear a crack and look at the windshield and there is a crack from A-pillar to A-pillar!!!! I call Chevy and a few glass companies and the lowest estimate I could get was $750, and thats just for the glass not including molding, adhesive, and labor!!!! $750 for a windshield!!! I get that that is what insurance is for but COME ON!!!!!

Same thing happend to me paid $500 to insurance and they covered the rest. Guys came out to my house and put it on in the driveway while I watched as there is alot of ways they could screw that up and damage your car but these guys did great on mine.

My insurance has a 50 dollar comprehensive deductible for the Camaro. You might want to call your insurance company to see if they offer the low deductible to cover the cost in the future.

Sorry to hear about the windshield. I hope your insurance offers a low deductible to stop you from paying out this much in the future.

I have to say as a fleet manager for a large trucking company good luck fighting them. We get at least 3 calls per week on rocks hitting windows. Unless the truck was actually hauling rock it is simply a road hazard. I recommend getting the driver to pul over after it happens and getting a police report.
