value loss in an engine swap
i have my 1992 RS as you may or may not know its the 25th anniversary heritage edition, but as of now i have a 3.1 liter v6 in in and want to put at least a 305-350 v8 preferably 5 speed because thats what i have right now but my real question is how much value would it lose because everything on the car is original besides some bulbs and a new transmission mount ordered directly from GM but i need to know

In all honesty it might increase its value. A V-6 version of a Camaro has never been too collectible in the past. I would swap it in and enjoy the car if that is what you want to do.

X2 , the car is not going to be a collectable in your life time , maybe never ! not to offend you , but the market today doesn't favor the 3rd gen cars , some of them are starting to climb in value such as the 87 IROCs or 82 pace cars but those are about it . Put what motor you want in it and enjoy the car for what it is.

25th anns were (no offense) nothing special. mainly because ALL 92s were badged as 25th anns. however if yours has the "Heritage Package", then you need to rethink your plans. it will have a heritage package badge on the rear deck lid if yours is.
now if you have the H/P and still want to swap motor/trans, thats fine too. however I will suggest that you go with a 350 (as its cheaper and easier to make power with), and a T56 over the T5 or go with a TH350 or TH400 or 4L60E (if going auto) reason being is that the T5's were only offered with the lower powered 305's and autos only offered with the 350's because the t5 couldnt hold up to the power of the 350. another thing to think of... how much did you pay for the car? how much value do you think the car would have with a dilapidated v-6 to most buyers?

Welcome...Mothball the old powertrain and do your swap. Just leave the exterior /interior factory stock just in case. Collectable Camaro's are almost always hi-horsepower factory cars.

Unless the car has less than 50,000 original miles, you are not going to hurt the value at all. Collector cars usually bring good money if they are pristine, especially a third gen. If it were me, I would sell it and find a thirdgen Z28 or IROC to build up. The Z28s will already most likely have a posi rear, better suspension, quicker ratio steering, already set up for V8, and will already be wired for a fuel injected V8. And if you are going with a manual trans, DO NOT USE the T5 5 speed. They do not do well behind a 350 in a thirdgen. Do it right and get the T56.
