6.2L L99 Camaro 400hp vs 6.1L 425hp Dodge Charger Superbee
This is an comparison between two cars that are owned by two guys on another site. And of course the argument is who's is faster lol
One lives in Ohio and the other in Nebraska so its not like they can drive to a local track and settle it. So what do yall think ? Lets take a 6.2L 2010 Camaro SS with the A6 automatic/L99 mods ( stock weight 3913 ) ARH , Highflow cats Xpipe and you name the Mufflers , Vararam Cai , Tune Camaro Gear ratios First: 4.03 , 2.36 , 1.53 , 1.15 , 0.85 , 0.67 I didnt recognize the name of this person however seeing they have a Vararam I figured they had to be on this site for the pre-order list. 2008 Dodge Charger Srt8 Superbee 6.1L 425hp 5speed automatic ( stock weight 4168 ) Highl Flow shorty headers , Magnaflow mufflers , Cats and Mopar performance CAI no Tune. Charger gear ratio's 3.58:1 , 2.19:1 , 1.41:1 , 1.00:1 , 0.83:1 |

If he had Tune- I would say it would probably within .3 of each other on the track (just a guess) Guessing the Camaro w/ its modifications would come out on top. 12.5 to a 12.8 maybe?? ________ FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FORUMS Last edited by jrc1122; 03-11-2011 at 10:33 PM. |

I cant find the thread now or I would post it but the shorty headers its speaking of are the same type of manifolds Mustangs come with from the factory. I guess these chargers come with them from the factory.
I'm wondering with less weight and 1st gearing in the Camaro if that would help the Camaro any? |

If the srt-8 had a tune, It would be a drivers race, but since it doesn't The l99 is probably a couple of tenths quicker.

If this was a LS3 with those mods..I'd have to go with the LS3.
But since it was paired up with a L99..I cant. The Charger with those mods is putting down close to 400 RWHP. Hemi's have ALOT of low end grunt and thats what matters in the 1320. I'm going to have to go with the Charger by between 1 and 2 10ths. If the Super Bee driver isnt on his game, FUBAR's his launch and doesnt get grip..it could possibly go the other way. That being said, in a equal driver match, the Charger would come out on top by a narrow margin. |
