Buy your own oil and filter and have a local shop change it. Labor cost me like $12.00.

Wow! Mine was $74 - which I was expecting. While my cars are still under warranty, I like the dealer to do all maintenance, so that I have a record of it being done. Just in case something goes wrong with the car. Thats just me though!

That's about right, most dealers are charging between $100-$125 for a 8 quart Mobil1 oil change and filter. The ones I've seen charge $7 a quart for the oil ($56), $15 for the filter, and half hour labor (ranges between $40-$50).

Mine is about $75, every 6th one is free though, so brings my cost down to like $62 at my Chevy Dealer.

A couple months ago, Autozone had a 5qt jug of Mobile clean 5000 + STP oil filter for $12.99 + the extra quart I needed for my V6 ($2 and some cents). Thats under $16.00 bucks! Now thats a deal my friends!

Pennzoil Platinum $3.99 Qt. Same price as Mobil1 at WalMart. Filter $12.

$44 and 30 minutes of easy time is worth saving $70
