Thumbs up

The Z28 was a small block road course (pony) car and the SS was the big block, go straight (some say muscle) car. A DI V6 TT Z28 would be a great fit in the modern Camaro line-in.

Now getting back to Jay's Camaro - Nice to see it back in the media.

I'll never understand why GM stopped production of the 3.8 Buick turbo motor. 25 years later and it's still one of the fastest cars on the road with 20+ mpg. My 87 turbo T runs 11.50 1/4's with only bolt-ons, completely stock block and heads and fully loaded.

Love my camaro, but I would trade the ls3 for an lc2 turbo 6 any day

I like the hood on the car. Any idea if this may become a production piece or will it be a one-off item?

This is not sad, infact this would be getting back some of those customers we lost durring the 70's gas crisis... you know... when imports took over due to better fuel economy.

If the power & fun t drive factor is there, putting a Z28 badge on it makes perfect sense.

Z28 + 6TT=:5thgenvert:
Everyone is entitled to there own opinion and personally i think an American Muscle car that was built for performance should never have a V6 and i wouldn't really like for the import crowd to start buying camaros because they will start looking and sounding like this vvvvvv lol and i dont think thats the best example ''making it a TT would get import only buyers to start cross shopping the Camaro'' i think the best reason to make the Z28 a v6 is better MPGs but still dont like the idea of the Z28 being a TT V6

The number of cylinders has nothing to do with perfomance any more.

Come on maaanne! It's 2012 for god sake who give hell about it's not a true camaro if its no v8 with gas prices soaring $4 plus per gallon already I think a lot of folks can care less about a big block/small block at this point. If a six can perform better than an eight and do 30 mpg while at it than why not put a z28 badge on it I agree with Leno, SIDI V6 is the future

I can understand having an opinon about something subjective like what makes a muscle car, but objective things like performance just lend themselves to opinion. Just take a look at the top 10 fastest cars in the world for the last few years. About half don't have a V8. There's no need for an opinon...it is fact that high performance no longer depends on the number of cylinders.

yeah I onno, I would hate the idea of a turbo 4 in the Camaro so I see why some hate the idea of a v6 in a Camaro although its been standerd for decades.
TT V6 makes sense, however im not sure I would make it the Z28 but it just might be. Definitly would be badass in its own way

Yeah just took a look at the top 10 fastest cars in the world Today only 1 of them has a V6 and its last on the list so yeah it still depends on the number cylinders you have ! Why do you think Ferraris and Mclarens use V8s and V12s ? Those guys aren't stupid they know what works and what Doesn't. And the most a TT V6 can be capable of and still have an aluminum Block and still be safe is around 550-600 bhp the most ! And for the money its going to take for GM to build a lighter 500-600 bhp TT V6 Camaro and have it reliable and fuel efficient you know its going to cost over 60k so tell me who's going to buy that ? what collectors ? the hardcore performance guys ? Yeah i Wouldn't see the import guys buying a 60k+ camaro just because it has a TT V6 and then not to mention they would be turning away the older guys that want the Z28 to be a V8 and actually have the money to buy one.
So yeah sorry about writing this whole thing just wanted to explain all my views on the subject

Good on Leno. Nice car. V6 vs V8....... Kinda fundemental so I'm not debating it. Everything being equal, V8's produce more power. The v6 Camaro is a fine car.
