So can I actually use any offset on my Camaro as long as the bolt pattern is 5x120? I have the LS so there is no big brake kit? Should I keep it atleast in the positive offset?

No one said that , however you have a wide range of offsets to go with
Depending on the with of the new wheels , you can and should take a good look on what's involved on how a wheel fits or not regarding offsets , how wide they back spacing ( in order to make sure it clears the suspension system , and does not hit the fender on the outside

You can see in 1010tires a video about that , TSW also has something like that.

And best of all ask question around here

Hi, first time poster, I have read your post on the offset and I think I understand it. that being said Im going to ask anyways. Im looking at a set of Giovanna dalar5v wheels for my 2012 SS, I'm looking to get 22x10 with a +35mm offset and a 5x120mm bolt pattern. If I understand how offset works those wheels will clear the calipers. Is there someone who can confirm this for me?
Thanks

Attachment 174071

Bolt pattern

A bolt pattern of 5x120 mm means it has 5 lugs and if there were a circle through the center of all the lugs the diameter of that circle would be 120 mm.
I thought on a 5 bolt it was distance between 2 bolts, say #1 and #3, not circle diameter.

In my experience, Tire Rack, Best Wheel Deals & Mod Bargains all have sales folks who know our Camaros. There may be others I just know about these.
You can go on Tire Rack,& I think Mod Bargains, put in the year, model & diameter wheel you want & they show you all that will fit, ( ie, clear our brakes). SUX2BU has posted a list of the 18" wheel widths & ET's that he's tried & fit our cars. You'd be surprised how many wheel shops are out there that insist you can't put an 18" wheel on an SS. It's like going in most part houses.
